We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacie Carroll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
What has helped me the most is being authentic to myself instead trying to be who I thought other people wanted me to be. When I first got started, I had numerous business start-up programs and advisors that pressured me to narrow down my audience and then to speak to them and their specific pain points. As a result, I found myself trying to be what I thought I needed to be for my audience instead of being authentic to myself and allowing my audience to come to me. For example, I was trying to market to leaders, working parents, and professional women with what I thought they needed to hear about their challenges. I made the switch to communicating my experiences in those spaces, my values, gifting and proprietary process. In an essence it was less of what potential clients might need to hear and more of showing people there is hope of a solution to their challenge.

When I made this shift, my clients began to come from all different backgrounds, many of which I had not even intended to market to. It opened my business and my mind to the many different types of clients who could benefit from the strengths-based coaching and facilitating I do.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a unique background. My story starts as a navigator in Air Force Special Operations over 18 years ago. I have served both on Active Duty and as a Reservist in Air Force Special Operations leading and teaching at various levels. It is hard to even begin to explain how a navigator in the Air Force becomes a professional coach, trainer and speaker but I think it really comes down to service and a commitment to making a difference. Whether I was flying in the skies over Iraq and Afghanistan, flying with partner nation forces in the Middle East, teaching navigator students, or now coaching, I have always believed in the power people have to make an astronomical sized difference in the world.

My path was not always easy, war was hard, being a female in a male dominated career field was at times hard, starting my own business was hard, saying no to salaried work to join WeAlign Coaching was also hard. If you know me, you know I am a very spiritual person. I believe everyone was made on purpose for a purpose. That purpose may change in different seasons of life, so I choose to persevere with the help of my faith in those changing seasons. My seasons are marked by vision casting by faith and setting goals to help me achieve that vision. I am also a really hard worker who doesn’t just do things, but I work to do them right, which boosts my confidence when I face adversity.

These characteristics are what I bring to my clients. I believe each client has the potential to make an astronomically sized difference in the world. I have vision of a bright future for my clients and can help them reach goals. I don’t just coach, I work hard to ensure I have received the best training the industry has to offer and that I am offering the best coaching possible to my clients. Again, it comes down to serving my clients and a commitment to making a difference in people’s lives.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Destin, Florida which is the world’s luckiest fishing village. We have beautiful powdery white sand on our emerald beaches and restaurants with all the fresh seafood you could ever want. I love to take people to our beautiful beaches where you are likely to spot wild dolphins swimming. After a day at the beach, dinner at one of our local restaurants would be in order where you could taste fish that was caught that same day. Later in the week we would go visit the towns along 30A where you could see the picturesque city of Seaside where the Truman Show was filmed and where many people have destination weddings. Some call it the Hampton of the south. I invite guests to sit back and relax and enjoy the beach town life!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a shout out to the team at WeAlign Coaching, specifically my mentor and team lead Deb Heverly. Deb has from the beginning been someone who saw potential in me before I saw it in myself. She encourages me to dream but but also to have my priorities right when it comes to my faith and family. She will laugh, cry or pray with me. She will coach me and let me coach her. She recognizes my strengths and pushes me to use those strengths but also to say no to the things that are outside my strengths.

The rest of the WeAlign Coaching tribe has from the beginning made me feel safe to be authentically me. They value me for who I am even when that is sometimes in conflict with who others are. They honor my many hats, including continuing to serve in the Air Force Reserve and give me the space I need to maintain balance. Through WeAlign Coaching, I have learned how to be part of an organization that puts relationships before problems which supercharged my success. With them by my side I know I can do anything!
