We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I used to oversee medical benefit plans in Silicon Valley while simultaneously navigating the challenges of my daughter’s lifelong battle with eczema. Driven by a longing for a better work-life balance and a desire to be present for my children, I made a significant change.

The decision led me to sell my California home and acquire a small farm on Whidbey Island, Washington. With two decades of experience as an herbalist, I embarked on a new journey by establishing The Fay Farm—a natural body care business dedicated to crafting products that help alleviate eczema and psoriasis symptoms while promoting overall well-being in a gentler, healthier manner.

Enlisting the help of my daughters, we embraced various aspects of the business, from tending to goats to handcrafting salves, lotions, soaps and engaging in sales at local markets. Our farm became home to dairy goats, providing the milk for our goat milk soaps, which we showcased at farmers markets and Seattle’s Pike Place Market.

Prioritizing quality, all my products feature certified organic and ECO/CERT COSMOS approved ingredients. I use herbs for coloring soaps, steering clear of artificial colors or mica.

Now situated in the picturesque Olympic Peninsula in Port Townsend, Washington, I’ve expanded by establishing an apiary to incorporate more raw honey into my products. The continual growth of The Fay Farm reflects my commitment to addressing the holistic health of our bodies.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
They say that courage is not without fear, and looking back, I am grateful for having embraced that fear. Taking the risk to step away from the predictability of corporate life marked the beginning of a transformative journey—one that not only brought positive change to my family but also left an impact on the lives of many. The countless hours I invested in researching, creating, and meticulously testing formulations were not just a labor of love; they were a commitment to excellence. Each product that emerged from this process bears the mark of unwavering dedication to quality. I take immense pride in the fact that, throughout this journey, I never compromised on the integrity of the ingredients. It was a conscious choice to uphold the highest standards, ensuring that every creation is a testament to the authenticity and effectiveness of The Fay Farm’s offerings.
Seeing the positive influence on the lives of those who use our products is the most rewarding validation of the path I chose. The courage to venture beyond the familiar, coupled with an unyielding commitment to quality, has shaped The Fay Farm.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting me in Port Townsend, Washington, I would take her to the Hanazono Asian Noodle, for a steaming bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen. The establishment is tiny and authentic. The food is always nourishing and delicious. We would walk on the beautiful beaches at Fort Worden. The views are stunning and you can see the local wildlife as well. River otters, seals and eagles to name a few.
We’d make our way to the Dosewallips waterfall. The lush greenery and the roar of the cascading waters are a memorable experience.
On one of our evenings, we’d head to The Rose Theater for a movie. This is a historic venue and has a charming ambiance.
And, of course, we would go the Port Townsend Farmers Market. The local artists and farmers are friendly and talented. The live music is always a treat.
Port Townsend is truly special.
