We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Cinor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The launch of Stefs.cuisine was quite unintentional. When I was younger I mainly cooked for survival purposes only. Even though my cooking was delicious I was never one of those people who just felt compelled to spend an impel amount of time in the kitchen. That quickly changed my senior year of high school , I would cook almost everyday after school and upload it to my instagram page. I was shocked by the overwhelming amount of support from my online community and friends from school. Everyone wanted to try my cooking so I decided to start selling plates. As I fell in love with cooking I not only realized how therapeutic this hobby was for me but also how lucrative it can become. Soon after I took my culinary talents to a new city. As I built momentum I started to attract high profile clientele and people who were eager to experience a taste of stef’s.cuisine beyond my kitchen. Not long after,I landed my first catering gig during the pandemic and never looked back.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Stefs.Cuisine has made it possible for me to explore myself and my gifts in many ways. What I enjoy most about my craft is that I get the chance to be free. I find it extremely liberating when creating new recipes and finding the rhythm of my soul through my cuisine. I believe that what sets my business apart from my competitors is how much I celebrate my Haitian heritage and educate other people about where I am from. Embarking on this journey has been a challenge for me, Despite not having initial support I had to learn how to balance my academic obligations as a student and building a separate career in the law field. I often find challenges when it comes to limiting myself to one thing , my biggest worry is living a fearful life and not becoming who it is that God called me to be. I want people to know that they have purpose despite their current circumstances, my brand is literally an embodiment of a true work of faith and resilience. One of my missions is to bridge communities together and show people that you can create a life that is worth celebrating often.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love this question ! anywhere near the water and they must have lamb chops and a fruity cocktail. lol

When my friends visit the area we are definitely going to a beach club , Ive been visiting Joia Beach quite often so we will go there first. Get the lamb chips , charred asparagus with caviar and garlic mashed potatoes. The lunch menu is also delicious , I would recommend something light like the catch of the day if we go during that time. For dinner we are heading to Brickell for rooftop vibe at East Miami , the hotel is also nice so Id definitely recommend staying there for a night or two. Who doesn’t love museums and shopping ??? I would advise them to explore Lincoln road and the Bal Harbour. For Sunday brunch we would stop by Cafe Ole , the food is delicious and the staff is extremely friendly, After brunch we would to head to coconut groove farmers market shop to mix and mingle, later that evening I would attend a beach yoga session on ocean drive to wine down. Lastly we would end off my weekend at El Tucan for a night of ambiance and exquisite Mexican cuisine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Yes ! I gain inspiration from the world around me and find lots of pleasure in the mundane parts of life. So I would say my biggest inspiration comes from community and the desire to create something that serves others and unite people. At the start of my journey of becoming an entrepreneur I did not recieve much support from my family especially my mom. later on, after learning more about my mom and her journey I realized we connected in many different ways and My passion for cooking came from her. I can recall moments from my childhood when my mom would bake special cakes for almost every occasion. I remember I feeling an immense amount of love and communitty and that is what inspires me today . Cultivating a space for other families to create those unforgettable moments through food and hospitality.
