We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Denooyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
As I embarked on the journey of opening an event company catering to the LGBTQ community, my thought process was fueled by a deep sense of inclusivity and celebration of love in all its forms. I recognized the importance of creating safe, welcoming spaces where individuals could express themselves freely and authentically without fear of judgment.

Understanding the unique needs and preferences of the LGBTQ community became a cornerstone of my planning process.

Above all, my vision was rooted in fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all attendees. I aimed to create events that not only entertained and delighted but also offered a platform for connections and mutual support.

Embracing the opportunity to bring people together in joyous celebration of love and diversity, I embarked on this venture with a heart full of passion, empathy, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my life I have two wonderful careers one I work for an architectural company where I get to create new buildings and my other passion is Amavi Miami the event company my wife and I have that caters to the lgbtq community. Throughout my journey of establishing an event company catering to the LGBTQ community, I have learned valuable lessons that have shaped both my business approach and personal growth. Some of the key takeaways include the importance of authenticity, listening with empathy, and creating spaces that prioritize inclusion and respect for all.

One crucial lesson I’ve learned is the power of community building. By fostering connections, fostering understanding, and amplifying diverse voices within the LGBTQ spectrum, my event company has evolved into a platform where individuals feel seen, heard, and celebrated. I’ve discovered that unity and solidarity are essential in creating meaningful and impactful experiences that resonate with our audience.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that we are more than just an event company; we are a movement dedicated to love, acceptance, and liberation.

At the core of our brand is a commitment to creating safe, inclusive spaces where individuals can express their authentic selves without hesitation or fear. We strive to be a beacon of light and hope for the LGBTQ community, a place where love is not only welcomed but celebrated in all its beautiful forms.

As we continue on this journey, I aspire to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness, stand in their truth, and join us in building a world where love knows no bounds and acceptance reigns supreme. Together, we can create a future where everyone, regardless of their identity, feels valued, respected, and deserving of unconditional love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Kao sushi and grill in Coral Gables best sushi ever . Wednesday night they host ladies nights with Amavi and Dj Bachi. Many people visiting from out of town forget to explore the Redlands there you have gorgeous gardens like The Redland Koi Garden , the Redland Ranch and Pinto Farm. If you are in the mood for a great coffee and outstanding atmosphere I recommend you check out Neverland coffee in North Miami. We live in a city that has so much to offer ! Don’t forget to also check out our Zoo Miami where you have the opportunity to feed the giraffes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I truly would like to give a shoutout to my number one fan and my number 1 supporter , my mother Mariana Varela. She is the mother figure to all my beautiful Amavi family .She is always the first person to bring ideas for our events the first to arrange at an event to make sure everything is running smooth. I would also like to give a shoutout to my wife Mari for supporting all my crazy ideas and projects for always being there no matter what and most of all shoutout to everyone who supports Amavi Miami! Thank you to all the venues we work with that always have their locations wide open with open arms and safe space for our lgbtq community.
