Meet Stephanie Lichter | Owner of Sweet Lich’s and Violin instructor.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Lichter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
A happy customer and maintaining the quality of our products. Additionally participating in events throughout the community and making connections with people through our sweets!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sweet Lich’s (pronounced lick’s) is our dessert company that Erik and I started in 2014. Lich’s is a play off of our last name “Lichter”. We opened to the public in the fall of 2020 in the midst of a pandemic. We started what we now refer to as a ghost kitchen (who knew they’d be so popular nowadays). We opened our second location in South Miami in the fall of 2023. We wanted our SoMi location to be more of a welcoming place that families could enjoy our space in. There have been lots of challenges through the years for sure. Getting our name out there and spreading the word about our products has been the toughest; once someone tries our cookies or ice cream they are basically stuck with us forever though. For the past 3 years I’ve spent a lot of time creating content on social media, and finding events that fit for us to participate in. We have been a part of so many farmers markets, smorgasburg, private events with our cookie caravan and that’s helped us a ton on getting our name out there. As great as all these events are – they are a LOT of work. The planning and prepping, the early morning set ups and late night tear downs, the list goes on. What we want the world to know about our brand is that we want you to enjoy our cookies and other sweets from start to finish every time and know how much love went into every bite. We make everything on our menu from scratch with quality ingredients. Every cookie dough is rolled by hand and baked to perfection. Our ice cream bases are made from scratch and spun fresh for our customers to enjoy by the scoop or delivered by the pint. Our marshmallow fluff is whipped to perfection daily. Cookie cakes can be customized and our pies too! Everything we do – we do it to make our customers happy. We love custom orders and love trying new things.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d take them for sure to our favorite spots in South Miami. We’d go get our nails done at Love Nails then have lunch at PlaTu and enjoy their delicious sushi and pad thai. I’d show her my favorite stores in the area like Oak apparel and home and indigo boutique. We’d have some drinks at Craft South Miami and pizza for happy hour. I’d be sure to take her to the Frost Science Museum and the beach of course. Another place we would definitely have to check out is Luca Osteria for dinner on Giralda in the Gables. Depending on the time of year maybe a sporting event too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is a tough one – so many friends and family members have been there for us along the way to help us get to where we are now. Erik used to bake out of his parents kitchen and I’d do all the packaging and he’d do the baking. So the first thank you would have to be to Erik’s mom! We’ve been able to accomplish so much by getting out there in the community and participating in different outdoor markets in Miami as well as collaborating with other businesses to sell our products through their stores along the years. Our sweet lich’s team is the one that truly deserves the most credit and recognition because without them we definitely wouldn’t be where we are today – shoutout to Tatyana and Nash for being the backbone behind creating new pies, ice creams, and cookie flavors every month.
