Meet Stephanie Lorenzo | Public Adjuster

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Lorenzo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
In my role as a public adjuster, Ive noticed that many outsiders might not fully grasp the distinction between insurance adjusters and public adjusters. While insurance adjusters work for the insurance company, public adjusters work for the policyholders. We advocate on behalf of our clients to ensure they receive fair compensation for covered damages.
One of the most common misconceptions that insurance companies are always on your side when you need to file a claim.
in reality, insurance companies often employ tactics to minimize payouts. They might deny claims or underpay them, leaving policyholders struggling to recover from unexpected losses.
Property insurance is intended to provide financial protection in times of need, but many people hesitate to file claims out of fear that it will fear that it willed to premium increases. It’s crucial to know that legitimate claims should not result in higher premiums. This is a common misunderstanding among policyholders.
I want to emphasize that your insurance company is not necessarily your best friend in these situations; rather, I see myself as a clients advocate. My role is to ensure that they are treated fairly and that their insurance company doesn’t shortchange them during the claims process. Its about safeguarding the rights and interests of policy holders, ensuring they receive the support they’ve been paying for all along.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a public adjuster, I represent policyholders against their insurance companies. It’s a field where insurance companies often prioritize their profits over their clients needs, leading to claim denials or inadequate settlements. What sets me apart is my commitment to treating my client’s properties and claims as if they were my own. I advocate for them with the sam dedication and empathy that I’d hope for in a public adjuster if I were in their shoes.
My journey in this business was made possible thanks to my incredible support system, particulary my fiancé and my father-in-law. My father-in-law, who owns the public adjusting firm, taught me everything I needed to know to become a successful and reputable public adjuster. Working alongside him, I absorbed his knowledge, although the transition from being an employee to thinking like a boss was not easy. It meant no guaranteed paychecks, and I had to learn the hard way that my success depended on my efforts.
I had to become a marketer, creating everything from uniforms to business cards and door hangers in order to a have a modern approach. Learning the language of the field and approaching potential clients with confidence were essential. The challenges I faced taught me to trust in myself and believe in my ability to control my success.
What I want the world to know is that behind every successful person is a story of facing fears and moving forward.
My brand is deeply intertwined with our family business. A few years ago, my father-in-law considered retirement, but we convinced him to continue, preserving his legacy. We took the necessary steps to become Florida licensed public adjusters and kept the firm thriving. We’re passionate about what we do and take immense pride in our family business, working tirelessly to support our clients and uphold our reputation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m profoundly grateful for the strength , confidence, and resilience that I’ve found through my journey. I attribute much of this to my unwavering faith and belief in a higher power, for protecting me and providing guidance throughout my life. I’ve encountered moments that I believe my younger self didn’t need to experience, but it’s through these trials that we grow and learn, ultimately becoming better individuals.
I want to commend myself for never giving up and always striving for personal growth. This journey is not only for myself but for the future family I hope to have one day.
A significant source of support and encouragement in my professional journey has been my fiancé. His unwavering belief in me and his relentless positivity have been instrumental in my success. He not only introduced me to this profession but also set high expectations for me, pushing me to believe in myself even more. His support has been unwavering, guiding me from being and employee to becoming my own boss as a public adjuster. I can’t express enough gratitude for the incredible support system Ive found in him.
