We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Rodnez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
GodlywoodGirl.com is actually my fifth business, so to be honest, my thought process was “how do I not fail again?” GodlywoodGirl.com was born from the Lord allowing me to try and fail at four different business ideas. Each idea that didn’t work helped me rethink, revamp and reconsider what could work instead. I truly believe the Lord used those business failures to help me think differently about entrepreneurship and what “success” actually means. And by the time I got to GodlywoodGirl.com, the lessons from the four previous failures helped me learn how to successfully step into this fifth one.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business GodlywoodGirl.com in 2013 after my previous business failed. GodlywodGirl.com is a digital product website that connects women of Christ with the resources they need to step into their God-given purpose as Christian entrepreneurs. The thing I’m MOST excited about is helping women navigate the messy road of starting a business with a game plan in place. If I’d had these resources when I started, I wouldn’t have failed four times before finally figuring out a successful business model with GodlywoodGirl.com. Getting to this point with GodlywoodGirl.com was NOT easy (lol). It took me many, MANY failures to figure out what would actually work. I think that’s one of the secrets of starting a business. The faster you figure out the stuff that doesn’t work for you, the quicker you’ll get to the formula that does work for you. My time came around 2016 when I finally figured out how to use something called “email marketing.” Once I got that locked, I was able to see my business start to scale. I would love the world to know that God truly has a purpose for each of us, and if we don’t know how to get there, we just need to do the research to get there. Nothing is impossible when it comes to God’s purpose for our lives. In the words of Marie Forleo, everything is “figureoutable.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a GREAT question, but to be honest, I wouldn’t take them anywhere because of the pandemic (lol).

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A BIG shout out to the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s because of His sacrifice on the cross that I’m able to do what I do every day. Another big shout out to my husband, Daniel Fequiere. His inspiration and encouragement helped me not quit every time I failed.
