We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephany Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephany, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
I’d have to say the most important decision I made in my business was hiring a business coach this year. Knowing what I know now just six months into working with Melody my business coach, I fully understand that I was simply my own employee before knowing how to run my business as a CEO. Some of the skills I’ve learned include but are certainly not limited to: collaboration, networking, planning, delegating and executing my own projects, exploring the multitude of options at my fingertips & learning how to leverage my strengths. I now run my business with direction and intention, rather than from a place of reaction. I’m happier and more secure in my choices and while I’ve been working harder than ever before, it’s been such a fulfilling time for me. It has shaped me in so many ways, I cannot recommend it enough for small business owners.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing that I’ve been blessed to find this year has also been what sets me apart in this industry. My brand is about the details. The subtle millimeters that others may think don’t matter, but mean the world to myself and my patients. My eyes and my hands aim to create harmony. No single treatment should be too bold or overpower the other. I want them all to flow & for your features to remain intact, while gracefully softening the changes that occur with aging. In my experience it’s important to note that you don’t sit down & choose your niche, it chooses you. It takes exposing yourself to as many experiences as you can, along with taking risks & just trying things until you find that your work finally feels authentic.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many fun things to do in Miami but currently, I have some top spots! I’d grab an iced coffee at Raccoon or Maman & enjoy a nice workout class such as Form50 or a scenic walk over the venetian bridge. A favorite local event I’ve visited a few times now is Coffee & Chill – perfect for a wholesome, healthy Sunday. For some evening fun we can get dressed up & grab drinks at Astra, Amara or Swan and later have dinner at Giselle, Casa Neos or Sparrow Italia. My weekends usually consist of a combination of time with my pup, husband & friends, social outings or fitness events or gym time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m happy to say that my husband, friends & family have always been 100% behind me even when it felt like a scary decision. I have peers in the industry that have always had my back and supported me while I was starting out & throughout my journey that I will never forget & to this day, they know how much they’ve meant to me. Diana of Radia Beauty lab, Leah of Ember Glow Lab & Melissa of Best Miami Tan are some of the professionals that motivated me to get out my comfort zone & chase my dreams. They offered advice & inspiration of which I am so grateful to this day. I am also so thankful to my husband and his help for ensuring that I was properly set up on the tax & accounting side through The Tax Team, which is critical for a new small business.
