We had the good fortune of connecting with SUHAY GONZALEZ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SUHAY, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My journey began with a desire to create a beautiful, inclusive line of lip products that address the often overlooked disparity within beauty industry, especially lip products. I envisioned a collection that provides full coverage with a formula that feels comfortable, long-lasting, and enriched with safe, hydrating ingredients. The thought process and motivation was to prioritize safe ingredients and inclusive options. I am proud to say that our products are certified cruelty-free and designed with conscious packaging. Offering shades that I would initially mix to obtain shades I love.

The collection is thoughtfully curated to meet diverse needs: shades that complement all skin tones, formulations that bridge the gap between matte and creamy finishes, solutions that address two-tone lips and the hydration our lips crave. Over time, we’ve expanded our offerings to include a tinted lip gloss, waterproof gel lip liners, and nourishing lip care products such as a scrub, overnight mask, and balm, each crafted with love and care.

Just this year, we have won best in makeup and best newbie beauty award, where I had the opportunity to share the title of award winner amongst, Anastasia Beverly Hill and Patrick Ta. Our beauty award-winning products have gained recognition by prestigious runways like Miss Universe, Miami Swim Week and New York Fashion Week, reaffirming our commitment to quality and innovation.

As a Latina founder, it brings me great pride and fulfillment to share my passion with makeup enthusiasts and professional makeup artists. More than anything, I am grateful for the opportunity to give back by donating proceeds to brain tumor research in honor of my mother, whose strength continues to inspire me every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I founded Seis Cosmetics driven by a desire to channel my energy into something productive and meaningful. After experiencing the profound loss of my mother to a rare brain tumor, I was overwhelmed by sadness and came to a profound realization that life is too short. This inspired me to explore entrepreneurship and embrace my creativity, particularly in mixing lip colors and textures, an art form I enjoy. Initially, the idea was to focus on a color cosmetics line, which later expanded into lip care, recognizing that our lips are a key part of our body since we eat, kiss, or talk with our lips.

While creating high-quality products is essential, I understood the unspoken challenges emerging brands faced. Building brand awareness, establishing a loyal customer base, and staying true to your vision, and recognizing industry trends requires patience, perseverance, and dedication; however, remaining authentic is key.

The name Seis means six, since I am my father’s sixth child. Seis Cosmetics takes pride in crafting exceptional beauty products that seamlessly blend hydrating safe ingredients with vibrant color, offering a unique fusion of color cosmetics and lip care. With a commitment to representation and excellence. The collections offers vegan friendly, safe ingredients, and certified cruelty free products. We are focused on delivering moisture, protection and style; the products offer both aesthetically and high performance.

As an entrepreneur, success often requires, dedicating long hours, maintaining discipline, and strategically surrounding oneself with the right team of individuals who support and align with your vision plus a lot of faith! If there’s an idea in your mind… take the leap!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a tricky question because South Florida has so many good places to eat but I would recommend Mastro Restaurant! It is definitely one of my favorite places to eat, the ambiance is always a vibe and its a great place to share moments with others. South Florida is a diverse place and honestly, good food, good music and great company is all you need.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am truly grateful for the many individuals who have been either a blessing or a lesson along my journey. Every experience has contributed to my growth, broadening my perspectives and enriching my understanding.

I want to give a special shoutout to my son, my sisters, friends, Tati, Ellie, Astrid, Al, and the numerous makeup artists who have continue to use Seis Cosmetics and show so much support. Most importantly, I deeply appreciate my customers and everyone who believe in my vision.
