We had the good fortune of connecting with Suly Sabina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suly, why did you pursue a creative career?
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to beauty and the magical moments that make life special. Growing up in vibrant Miami, surrounded by the rich blend of Cuban-American culture, has given me a unique perspective on celebrating life’s big moments.

My career started in the insurance industry, but I still felt something was missing. It was when I started planning weddings and events for my friends and family that I realized where my true passion was. Bringing people together to create unforgettable memories ignited something deep within me.

So, in 2019, I took a leap of faith and launched Events by Suly Sabina. Pursuing a creative career has been the best decision I’ve ever made, allowing me to live out my passion every single day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating a magical wedding isn’t just about the day itself – it’s about weaving a story of love that is as unique as the couple walking down the aisle.

What truly sets me apart from other wedding planners is my swift ability to conceptualize creative ideas alongside my clients, transforming their wildest dreams into tangible, exquisite realities. I pride myself in curating celebrations that exude a timeless aesthetic, leaving memories that endure for years to come.

One thing I’m genuinely proud of is my ability to maintain composure amidst the chaos. Honestly, it’s been a game-changer. With all of the ups and downs in the wedding planning process, which can be pretty intense, I serve as the calm amidst the storm, ensuring everything flows seamlessly. This is one of the qualities that couples have told me they’ve felt such a wave of relief having me by their side. My goal is to make this whole planning adventure as smooth and stress-free as possible.

I’ve always believed in celebrating every unique love story that come my way, pouring my heart into making each wedding a testament to the couple’s bond. It’s not just about being a planner; it’s about walking alongside my couples on this incredible journey. The trust my clients place in me is sacred and I treasure every shared moment, from laughter to tears, and every dream realized.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami offers a plethora of experiences. So here is just a sample itinerary for those visiting Miami.

Day 1 – Beach Day
– soak up the sun, swimming, and people watching in South Beach ( you will not be disappointed).
– Have dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab

Day 2 – Art & Cultue Exploration
– Begin the day at the PAMM (Perez Art Museum) or Frost Museum of Science
– Next, explore the Wynwood Walls and enjoy lunch in one of the many restaurants the area has to offer.
– End the day with Dinner at Garcia’s Seafood Grille

Day 3 – Shopping & Entertainment
– Spend the morning exploring the upscale boutiques in the Design District
– You can enjoy lunch at Michael’s Genuine (one of my favorite spots for the farm-to-table vibe)
– Next stop, Brickell. Here you have more great shops in Brickell City Center and there are no shortage of restaurants for dinner. It just depends on what cuisine you want to try.

Day 4 – Relaxation
– Treat yourself to a spa day. The one at the Fountainbleau Hotel is amazing.
– Spend the day enjoying their pool and fabulous restaurants on property.

Day 5 – Exploration
– Explore Little Havana and experience the Cuban culture by visiting the Domino Park and a cigar factory.
– Have lunch at Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina – authentic cuban cuising and live music.
– Enjoy the music and drinks at Ball & Chain

Day 6 – Water Activities
– Take a snorkeling or diving excursion in Biscayne National Park
– Enjoy the sunset and Dinner at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne – you will have great views of the Miami Skyline.

And this is just a quick overview of what Miami has to offer.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family, whose unwavering love and support have been the cornerstone of my success. Their encouragement and belief in me, even during the moments of uncertainty, have been invaluable.

I also owe a debt of gratitude to my friends and mentors, whose constant encouragement and inspiration have propelled me forward, cheering me on every step of the way.

Lastly, I want to extend thanks to the clients and collaborators who have entrusted me with their visions and allowed me to bring them to life. Their belief in my abilities has fueled my passion and drive to excel.
