Meet Susie Shemtov | Licensed Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Susie Shemtov and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Susie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Entrepreneurship runs in my family, so starting my own business felt like a natural path. What truly drew me in was the freedom to be endlessly creative, set my own schedule, and approach things from a fresh perspective. I believe successful entrepreneurs are inherently curious and innovative—and that’s exactly how I’d describe myself!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Skin Ritualist is all about rituals that bring your best skin forward—blending holistic practices with results-driven, medical-grade skincare. My approach is deeply personal and highly customized. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatments. Every facial, every protocol, every product recommendation is tailored to the individual. I combine intentional touch, sculpting massage techniques, and corrective skincare to create visible transformation—not just in the skin, but in how my clients feel in their skin.
What sets me apart is the blend of deep knowledge, intuitive care, and attention to detail. I don’t rely heavily on machines; instead, I trust in the power of my hands, education, and products that work. I’ve worked hard to create an environment where people feel truly seen and cared for—because skin health isn’t just surface-level, it’s emotional, too.
The journey hasn’t been easy. Starting your own business is never a straight line. There have been late nights, self-doubt, burnout, and moments where I questioned everything. But my passion for this work—and the trust my clients place in me—has kept me going. I’ve learned that consistency, integrity, and always leading with intention are what make the biggest difference over time.
What I want the world to know about Skin Ritualist is that this isn’t just about facials. It’s about transformation, education, and empowerment. I’m here to help clients understand their skin, support their skin-goals, and create a lasting impact—because when your skin reflects your best self, it changes how you move through the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit Miami, we’d mix beachy relaxation with good food and local gems. We’d start with a beach day in South of Fifth, then grab brunch at Pura Vida. One day would be all about wellness—facials at Skin Ritualist (of course), then a sound bath or yoga class.
We’d spend an afternoon exploring the Design District—shopping, people-watching, and coffee at Dior Café. Dinner spots would include Mandolin for Mediterranean vibes, Boia De for something special, and drinks at The Standard for a sunset view.
To wrap it up, we’d hit up Little River for art and local energy, and maybe squeeze in a boat day or a visit to Vizcaya. Miami has the best mix of culture, beauty, and soul—and I’d want them to feel it all.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The biggest shoutout absolutely goes to my husband. His unwavering support and encouragement have been everything. He pushes me to face challenges head-on and constantly reminds me that I’m capable of more than I think. It means the world to have someone in your corner who truly believes in you. My second shoutout goes to my amazing clients. Not only are they kind, interesting, and genuinely fun to be around—but they also support my passion for skincare in such a meaningful way. I wouldn’t be where I am without them.
