We had the good fortune of connecting with Suyan Souen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Suyan, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Brazil and I’ve been living in Miami for 4 years. I was born in São Paulo. . The city is the capital of the surrounding state of São Paulo, the most populous and wealthiest state in Brazil. Despite being a marvelous country Brazil presents a very large social inequality. Brazilians should learn on a very young age how to fight for your dreams. I was a classical ballerina and this was my passion. I started to work very young giving classical ballet classes for kids. My passion for dance made me want to start University in the Physical Education area. During University I had to stop the ballet because I was getting injured too often. I felt very sad and upset but this difficult situation led me start my studies on muscle strengthening for injury prevention. So I fell in love with the subject and I became a specialist! Nowadays I love to help people to achieve a better performance and improve their health.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have always worked as an instructor and personal trainer in large gym chains, where I began to develop my own training method during the weight training classes. That experience has given birth to the Glutesculpt© method, which aims to work the gluteal muscle in a highly efficient manner, leaving it with a more compact, stronger look. The results show up in four to six weeks. I helped a lot of women to achieve their dream body. Today, I dedicate myself to private training consulting, personal trainer classes, and special Glutesculpt© classes. My training is recognized across the nation and internationally for the efficiency and quality of my method. It was a long trajectory to get to where I am today. I thought about giving up many times but I stay strong. I’ll always be an entrepreneur and as I told you before being an entrepreneur in a country as Brazil with a huge social inequality is not easy. But I never give up ! My advice for you is to NEVER GIVE UP . Believe in your dreams and keep going. If you have a passion for what you do things happen in the right time .
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Wynwood ! It’s a magic place. I am passionate about art and Wynwood is known for being an entertainment district, with artwork, restaurants, breweries, clothing stores, dance venues, among other options. My favorite restaurant is kYU. And the Wynwood walls are incredible.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and my father for showing me how much we must fight in this life to get anywhere and my husband , who at that time was my boyfriend, for providing the kind of help that I needed to conclude my studies in University.
