We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Cheyenne and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney, where are you from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am from a small town in Connecticut ! I was raised in a very secure and loving household and everyone knew everyone in the town. Music was always a big part of my life and it shaped who I am today. From Marvin Gaye to Whitney Houston and Stephanie Mills – R&B has been a heavy influence in the music I create now and music I enjoy.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was first introduced to the world of music before I was even born. Raised in a household where rhythm and blues played each day, music became an integral part of my childhood and family’s culture. Witnessing my uncle’s successful management of his music label further deepened my connection to the industry, sparking with me a desire to explore the diverse facets of the entertainment industry and ignite my desire to contribute to its growth and development. From an early age, I found solace and joy in music, growing up singing in talent shows and crafting my own compositions. These experiences not only cultivated my passion for music but additionally shaped my identity as a dedicated music enthusiast.
Inspired by iconic artists such as Whitney Houston, Beyonce, and Jennifer Hudson, my major influences are in the genre of R&B. It’s no surprise that my own musical style are infused with soulful melodies and powerful vocals.
Beyond singing, I am also a talented songwriter, poised to release my debut single later this year. My journey towards pursuing music professionally began in 2020, and since then, I’ve been blessed with following of over one hundred thousand on social media platform TikTok. Through this platform, I shares my passion with the world, captivating audiences with covers, riff challenges, and original content.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to brunch ! I’m a brunch girly through and through. There’s a spot in Stamford called Elm Street Diner, they have the most extravagant foods and the best donuts , or Queens Delight in Bridgeport – great southern comfort food. I’d also just drive around Westport, Greenwich and maybe Easton to show how beautiful the scenery is in my area
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God! First and always praising the most high , I would be nothing without the Lord and I am blessed to be where I am in light of Him. Next would be my mother and my father , they raised me into the strong , independent, loving and creative I am today – they are my BIGGEST fans and their support is everything to me. And last would be my siblings and my best friends who always push me to get comfortable with being UNcomfortable.
