Meet Sy’Moya Reynolds | Nail Technician/Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sy’Moya Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sy’Moya, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had a creative touch whenever I did things…and doing nails were one of them. I used to do my own nails when I was younger, doing different designs with different polishes. Then when the pandemic hit, I said why not tap back into my younger self and further my nail journey.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One thing that I can say what sets me apart from other upcoming technicians in my area would have to be quality. I always wanted my nails whenever I got them done to be 100% quality and if it wasn’t k would re-do them. Coming up with my business was pretty easy, but having consistency would be one of the hardest things for sure when I started. Constantly remembering to post or even engage with my following was hard but I made ways around it and got used to it. I’ve learned that if you really want something you would make time for it and not have a backup plan for it…and if you did, it wasn’t something you really wanted. Clients are going to be clients but you have to always set boundaries and/or brush off certain remarks made. However, there is always a middle ground and the job becomes less frustrating.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Um, down here in South Florida there’s mainly things to do in Miami so I tend to find myself there on the weekends when I’m free. There’s a lot of food trucks, open area, and different restaurants to try so you can never get tired of eating down here lol.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother of course! She’s my #1 supporter in everything I do and always pushes me.
