We had the good fortune of connecting with Taca Gamboa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Creating content is a great hobby that I enjoy and makes me very happy. This is my story:
As a publicist, I have always been involved in the digital world and social networks. I admired people who became
public figures and shared through their channels what they were so passionate about. This was something that I
had always dreamed of doing but for some time my fears and insecurities prevented me from starting my dream.
There are many “perfect lives” on social media but the reality is completely opposite. I made the decision to create
a channel to share content with my audience keeping in mind it had to be real and authentic. It must represent my
personality.
One of my greatest passions in life is skin care. I love and admire any skin tone and their textures. In addition to be
the largest organ in our body, it is something we are born with and cannot be changed. This is what makes us
authentic.
I knew that I wanted to teach my audience that there is no perfect skin. We can improve aspects of our skin but
never replace it with another. The biggest challenge for me was to share through videos or photos that we all can
learn to feel comfortable in our skin and that’s how TACA GAMBOA was born. I was finally willing to put my fears
aside to fulfill one of my dreams.
It hasn’t been easy. In fact, it has been extremely challenging. I didn’t know how to pose for the cameras because I
had always been part of behind-the-scenes content production. In this journey I have learned to recognize myself
and to accept myself as I am. I have learned to handle bad comments and boost myself with the good ones. We
are all humans, we are not perfect, and we all make mistakes.
There is nothing more beautiful than my “work” being me. Skin care is one of my priorities. I research and find new
ways to improve skin. I take care of my own skin in the most loving way. Protecting and taking care of my audience
who give me their time to watch my content is fundamental. I want others to recognize my passion for sharing and
helping. If with just one video I manage to motivate my audience to develop good skin care habits, it makes me
feel happy. Then, I will be accomplishing my goal.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Miami is a paradise that could be defined in two words, diversity and friendly people. Not only the beaches are breathtaking, also the architecture and landscapes are incredible. This city is vibrant, its Latin Culture makes Miami very unique. We can have fun in many parties or just relax and connect with nature.
Miami Beach is a must, with one of the must famous beaches in the world, definitely this is an area that we have to visit, however sometimes it may seem to crowed, so here are my two options: Joia Beach, the vibe and food are incredible and it is a fantastic place to party with good music at the beach. If the plan is to spend all day at the beach, Crandon Beach in Key Biscayne is the place to go. It is not a crowed beach, the sea is very calm and we can ride a bike or play volleyball.
After a long day under the sun, we would need good food, so here are my two favorite recommendations for a late lunch: Doce Provisions, close to Calle 8, this restaurant has amazing cuban food and an incredible courtyard ready to hang out with friends and a delicious cold Mojito. Also Namaste Miami in Coral Gables is 10/10, best Indian food ever, very authentic and they offer a really good service.
Wynwood and Design District. The street art on Wynwood is spectacular, this area has restaurants from different parts of the world. Bakan is the perfect spot to have food and drinks before the party begins. Cocktails, Guacamole and tacos are really good. The best places to dance and enjoy Latin music all night are definitely Mayami and Dirty Rabbit. Design District, Miami’s luxury side, with a very inspiring architecture, this is a good place to take pictures, chill and drink a cold drink while you can walking through a variety of designer stores. Last but not least, the Brickell neighborhood is stunning as much as the skyline that we can appreciate from the bay. In South Florida, Brickell City Center is one of the most incredible malls for everyone. Tacology, Rosa Sky and Komodo are definitely my favorite restaurants in this area.
After a busy weekend, we cannot forget about taking care of our skin, so the placed to go is Daniela MartinTereso’s Studio in Doral, this spot is perfect to rest and recharge yourself, their staff is amazing and very talented, you skin will be in good hands, trust me!
Quick spot before leaving, Upper Buena Vista Miami, the Bohemian Oasis, thats how they call themselves, let me explain why. As soon as you enter to this little mall / market you can disconnect from the city, the have it everything in there, micro boutiques, holistic and wellness events, live music over the weekends and restaurants. You cannot miss El Turco, exquisite Turkish food, hands down, and for dessert Amazonica, they sell the best Cholados, which is a colombian street food concept of shaved ice mixed with exotic fresh fruits, the perfect combination of sweet and sour to refresh your tasted buds after enjoying this magical place in the sunny Miami.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All the inspiring people who follow their passion and are not afraid to pursuit their dreams. They have motivated me.
