We had the good fortune of connecting with Taina Evans and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taina, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“When you know your name, you should hang on to it, for unless it is noted down and remembered, it will die when you do.” -Toni Morrison. This quote has followed me since high school, I have always been a firm believer in being authentic and your true self, because people will remember you that way. People get to know you and some may hear about you, but it is the brand that you build upon for yourself that lives on as your legacy.
I am extremely passionate about what I do and take pride in my work. In the real estate business, it is easy to lose sight of what really matters, and to me, that’s making sure my clients are happy and always feel supported. I put a lot of effort into educating myself, understanding the process, and staying up to date with market trends. This helps me provide the best service to my clients; making sure they come out on top. This is my brand and I plan to make my name stand out in this industry. There is a lot of competition out there, but I strive to keep true to my beliefs and keep putting my clients first!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I received my real estate license in December 2015; as a brand-new agent not fully understanding the business, I did not earn the income I anticipated. I had a family to support and to think about not making money scared me. So, I onboarded with a full-time job, knowing it would give the financial security we needed. But that job did not satisfy my heart and its desire to be out in the field helping people find their new home or listing homes to sell. Still, as a part-time agent, my spare time was filled with helping my clients with their real estate needs. Although, working full-time paid the bills, the more I did real estate, the more I loved it, and wanted more! BUT, nonetheless, “fear” kept me stuck! The “what if’s” played in my head over and over until I couldn’t take it anymore. My husband, who witnessed my stress daily, encouraged me to go full-time. He helped me see that “fear” is what keeps us stuck and if we don’t go out there and get it, opportunities will pass us by. When I took a step back and put things into perspective, I was able to see clearly again. What I had been so afraid of wasn’t scary at all. The work I did, as a part-time agent, was almost as good as some full-time agents. The inability to do it was all in my head. So, I took the leap of faith and quit my 9 to 5 job and began my full-time real estate career in 2021!
Being fearful of new ventures is normal, however, I will not let it stop me from pursuing what I love! The market we are in is challenging, but I thrive on ensuring my clients are happy and always feeling supported. I have a can-do attitude, love learning from others, am extremely passionate about what I do, and take pride in my work! I’m so excited about my future in real estate because the sky’s the limit; only I can put limitations on my ability to succeed, I just have to go out there and get it!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love living in South Florida because there is so much to do!! We live in paradise!! For breakfast/brunch MIAMI Café- Wynwood; the food is tasty, and the environment is great! During the day, hang out at South Pointe Beach!! Enjoy our beaches without the local and tourist crowds. For lunch or early dinner, you must try Tinta Y Café; their sandwiches are so delicious and give you an authentic taste of Miami. For Dinner or date night, Rusty Pelican, the ambiance is fantastic and the food is delightful. One day you must take a trip up to Ft. Lauderdale and have breakfast at Java & Jam, then take a Riverfront Gondola Tour, it’s so amazing touring Fort Lauderdale’s most exquisite homes on the water. For Lunch, you can either have it on the boat or at the restaurant at Casa Sensei; yummy Pan Asian/Latin Fusion dinning. South Florida is so versatile and has so much to offer, you can even take a trip out west and visit the Everglades on an airboat tour, do some shopping at the Sawgrass Mills mall and have some lunch at Matchbox. Another day, take a trip to Schnebly’s Redland’s Winery in Homestead, enjoy some wine and the environment, as well as indulging in delectable food. Another fun-filled, or equally relaxing option, is to take a trip to the Keys!! You can never go wrong eating at Sharky’s SharkBite Grill in Key Largo. The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is incredible!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my husband who gave me the push I needed to go full-time in this business and the support needed to succeed. I also want to thank my family and friends who have always believed in me and encouraged me to go for it! My support system has been my motivating and encouraging factors from the onset of pursuing my dream.
