We had the good fortune of connecting with Taj Casimir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taj, how do you think about risk?
Throughout my life, I’ve embraced risk as a fundamental aspect of my existence, and I intend to continue doing so. For me, risk-taking is often intertwined with confronting fears and striving for what lies just beyond them. I sometimes feel as if these moments are divine tests, challenging me to either patiently wait or boldly seize what I desire without explicit approval. This approach has consistently been part of my life, where risks are taken only after thoughtful prayer and seeking guidance. Ultimately, my goal is to achieve my heart’s deepest desires, which is why I embrace risk. I’ve realized the importance of taking calculated risks, focusing on potential financial gains rather than possible losses.

One of the most significant risks I’ve undertaken had a substantial financial impact: I am currently repaying a $50,000 debt incurred from a poorly researched real estate investment.

Another considerable risk was relocating alone across the country, a decision driven by my career ambitions. This move was a manifestation of my aspiration to leave my home state and join a global corporation. Mentally ready for this leap, I embraced the opportunity when it arose. However, the challenge of feeling isolated and building a new social circle tested my resilience and character. I had to decide between succumbing to loneliness or actively forming a community around me. I chose the latter. I’ve learned that risk, when intentional and well-calculated, is far from reckless and often leads to positive outcomes.

The most rewarding risks were those I deeply desired and for which I was mentally prepared. My approach was to proactively work towards my goals, ready to seize opportunities as they appeared. The essence of taking risks lies in their alignment with your desires and being prepared for them. Unpreparedness can lead to undesirable outcomes.

In essence, risk is synonymous with an ‘unpredictable, hopeful outcome.’

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Currently, I’m thrilled about my blog, “Self Care Flexx,” hosted on the Medium platform. At Self-Care Flexx, our philosophy revolves around a holistic view of wellness. We believe that true health is more than just the absence of disease; it involves the nurturing of the mind, body, and spirit to unleash one’s fullest potential. Our goal is to motivate individuals to make self-care, mindfulness, and self-discovery fundamental aspects of their personal growth and empowerment journey.

My entrepreneurial path began with launching several businesses, initially driven by the motive to earn money. However, I soon realized that mere financial goals were insufficient for me. I discovered that I craved a deeper connection with my work – a blend of passion and purpose. This realization came through my exploration of self-care, which provided a profound sense of direction (focusing on physical well-being, spiritual growth, and soul-nourishment). This approach was like uncovering a treasure trove of life management strategies, while many around me seemed mired in their troubles, often without effective coping mechanisms.

A pivotal lesson for me has been the importance of risk-taking and the power of indifference to others’ opinions. This mindset has been instrumental in my journey and continues to shape my approach to both life and business.
