We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamar Gail and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamar, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I was raised with the mentality that you work hard to play hard. Having started working full time on summer break when I was thirteen, I would somedays work 14 hours a day under the beating sun on an agricultural farm for my aunt and uncle. What this instilled in me was my work ethic and I am proud of this although as I later started my own business and tried to do everything myself I quickly realized that finding balance in my life was key. I have found not only in myself but also in the clients that have come to me that having, or not having, balance has a major effect on our life experience- body, mind and spirit. I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to live in Europe for many years, in a place where balance was made more of a priority and family time was also made an important part of the day. This really gave me a wonderful perspective on how I wanted to live. I can easily find myself working behind my computer for hours on end and some days that is what is needed but even on those days I stop to take a walk in nature and have my coffee outside away from electronics. My ultimate goal is to live a slow life but for now how I create balance in my life is by spending time in nature, my personal yoga practice, going to the gym, fitting in time for family/friends and my love life, eating healthy and having a good nights sleep – Body, Mind & Spirit, because I know that these things are what fill my cup and that is needed in order for me to continue contributing to the world and making my own dreams come true. .

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a teacher, coach, spiritual guide, shamanic priestess with 24 years experience in women’s health, holistic healing, wellness, feminine shamanic traditions and natural birth. I’ve had the pleasure of holding ceremonies and leading workshops and retreats internationally since 2016. Through personal coaching, online programs, local sessions and retreats I help high performing, powerful women soften into their feminine energy and reclaim their feminine knowledge, wisdom and strength so that they can be leaders and healers in their own families and communities. Empowering them to live their fullest potential in this life experience. My work is a deep dive into the ‘feminine mysteries’ which is the facilitator for great transformation, bringing forward a new sense of inner authority and inner power for those who dive in. It has not been easy getting here. When I began my business I was living outside of a small city in the French Alps and women were not open to what I was teaching at the time so I had to find ways to reach women internationally. I was also new to the online world and was having to learn how to do everything on my own. It took time and patience but I can now do most of it on my own quite easily, when needed, and that in itself is empowering. The tools that I teach and the practices that I use with my clients are ones that I have had to fully integrate myself, as is usually the case. Although I had the tools previously and used them in my work their full power was felt after I went through a traumatic, abusive relationship. When I was finally able to leave the relationship, I was dealing with PTSD and more. I stopped my practice at the time because I knew that I needed to focus on healing myself. In order to do that I used the tools that I had been teaching and within six months I had moved myself through almost all of it. What it gave me was a testament to my work. It was fully integrated and I was living and breathing it. The last piece of the healing was to reopen my practice and I can tell you that, when I finally did, I felt more aligned and more sure of who I am, what I am doing and why I am here than I ever had before. I am here to intitiate and empowered women and I have been doing this work specifically since 2015.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely have them visit during Art Basel, as I love art. We would explore and network at a few of the events. I would take her to the beach for sunrise to mediate and swim in the ocean if it isn’t too cold yet. My favourite spot to go is 3rd street beach on south beach. That would be followed by grabbing breakfast or a smoothie at Under The Mango Tree. For brunch I’d take her to Pastis Miami and for dinner Jazz Kitchen one night and another night Palapa for a dinner show. I think a trip to Little Havana definitely needs to happen one night for a cuban experience. The end of the trip would definitely be spent at The Standard and my favourite way to spend the day there is to get a massage and spend half of the day in the spa, followed by the pool. About an hour before sunset shower and change and have dinner at Lido bar with the incredible view of the sunset over the water. After dinner sharing stories around the fire with a glass of wine.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have been a really lucky woman as I have had many supporters cheering me on especially over the past few years so it is hard to say just one person. I would love to just give a shoutout to my family and closest friends. They have all been a blessing in my life through their consistent belief in me, their support and love.
