We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamiko Sinclair and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamiko, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always been a creative individual and focused on inspiring others so it only made sense for me to start a business where items are curated by myself. My creative compass is definitely what makes me Me and I believe that is translated into the aesthetics of the brand. If my business didn’t involve creativity or an artistic component, then it wouldn’t feel authentic.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my professional life I have been in a Human Resources capacity for over 15 years and I believe one thing that sets me apart is I am truly passionate about helping others and this is what has allowed me to sustain and progress in this career. This aspect of helping others has also allowed me to build connections with customers in my business life. I have learned that a little kindness goes a long way. One thing I have always been passionate about is engagement and this helps me in my business life as well.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is an interesting question. Because I am a very creative person, I am all about the Arts. I think one of the areas I would definitely visit with them is the downtown Fort Lauderdale/ Las Olas area. There is a lot of history in that area and also features some very quaint dining and shopping and a trip to Florida wouldn’t be complete , if you didn’t visit one of the beautiful beaches. Visiting one of the historical houses, the Broward Performing Center of Arts, dining by the Beach , this would all be part of the itinerary.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I grab inspiration from a lot of different sources and I only try to surround myself by people who I find inspiring. There are so many to mention, but I must say my parents have always instilled in me to be consistent and diligent and that definitely has inspired me throughout my journey. There were times I wanted to give up and I think about my parents and the lessons they have taught me and it encourages me to push forward.
