We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Iban and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
While working at a major sporting brand, I gained valuable experience in the industry, but I also felt a growing desire to create a brand that offered a different kind of experience for the customer., focusing on women. I envisioned a brand that went beyond simply selling events, but instead, focused on cultivating unique and personalized experiences for the end consumer, where each of them was unique, thus creating “a piece of art” every time we had one.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Clandestinemood’s mission is is to be the brand of reference in creating FOMO in the final consumer with lifestyle and wellness experiences for women.
The idea behind the brand came when I saw a niche that was not being taken care of. We recreate live music experiences in one-time locations. The path has not been easy, but I have always been taught that with hard work, persistence and perseverance, everything pays off.
I have had many challenges bringing up the brand in Madrid and Barcelona, and decided to expand to Miami, as there is something that was not being done here. Our curated experiences differ to what the market had and we are constantly evolving offering the best “sporty parties” in unexpected locations.
I am proud to say that we have created a BRAND: We go beyond creating events, and are the perfect curation for our sponsor brands, creating experiences that share our identity and, to be honest, people just love it!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends are actually coming to visit soon. I really like the different offerings that the City has. We would start by having a brunch at Cafe Novela in Wynwood, enjoying the beach in Soho Beach House and working out in Reforming Pilates, of course!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In this shoutout I am going to recognize 2 “individuals”.
1. My Husband Pablo. Apart from being married, he is my business partner. He is specialised in Sports Business development and when I decided (I know, I am very stubborn) to expand the business to Miami, he supported me 100%, invested in the company, quit his job in Madrid and joined me with the business operations.
2. The haters. It’s not easy coming up with an idea out of nowhere, build a brand, have people believe in it, invest in it, and make a living out of it. Like I say in this article, it has not (or it’s not) been easy and there are a looot of people that though I was crazy, that questioned me why I was going the opposite way (as everyone else). I take challenge very seriously and money comes and goes…but there is something that NEVER comes back, and that is TIME.
My recommendation for everyone would be to squeeze their time and make the most of ot, have your hear beat at 150 every single day.
