We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Napoli and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

My thought process started with wanting do something greater- have more purpose and freedom to pursue my passion to be able to service my clients in a way they feel heard and seen. When I was working in a doctors office they didn’t give us the time we needed to do that. And then one Sunday I was watching a special one day about Alli Webb the founder of Drybar and was super inspired from that and it motivated me to just do it! I wrote out the plan, started working on branding, location, equipment, licensing + legality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

My business is the business of skin health, you can cut, fill and freeze but if you dont have healthy skin – non of that is going to look that great!
I first started with opening SkinHealth Studios to provide a space for my clients to get treatments that really work.  Its a waste of time and money for everyone if it doesn’t so I’ve vetted the best of the best in equipment and skincare.
But I opened right before covid hit us and shut everything down. So then I pivoted to growing my instagram and becoming a virtual aesthetician doing skin consults and mailing skincare rituals to clients. From their I got an Amazon account to make shipping easier and I started working on creating my own skincare line to offer my clients a price-conscience medical grade line.
I also created an online self-paced program for estheticians to help

Discover key insights into achieving and optimizing patients results by learning how to prevent, & treat skin health problems as well as learn thing s like:
  • Selecting a daily skin care program
  • Rejuvenating skin
  • Preventing skin problems
  • Maintaining results
  • Selecting the appropriate procedure based on the problem, skin type, and the mechanism of action
  • Understanding and treating skin sensitivity
  • Preventing and treating pigmentation disorders, aging, photodamage, and inflammatory disease.

After they take this class they emerge a better thinker, and a better listener.

I also train estheticians in-person and mentoring them to open their own business. In doing that it led me to my next business mi.Glō MD Skincare.

I found that as these estheticians were trying to go solo they couldn’t afford a medical director and meet the large minimum opening orders and re-orders that the big brands have, and I’ve been there too and have felt that pain,  so that also encourage me to started wholesaling my skincare to them with no minimums.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Oh so many, I actually just did a girls trip and we did horseback riding on the beach, I would recommend to everyone that comes to Miami, its so different and the animals are sweet and friendly and pics came out like something from a magazine. We also did a couple of days staycation at the good time hotel, its so cute and girly and the best photo ops, the pool is so much fun and a great way to catch up on girl talk.  One night we went to Casa Florida for a cocktail, then to to dinner at Giselle Maimi.   Another day we went to Little Hen for Brunch, my go to are the rose infused pancakes and again its all about photo ops as well right?!
And if you havent had a Cielito artisan pop – you are not living!
My favorite spa to spend the day getting pampered is the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort and from there grabbing a bite at Casablanca on the bay, is like the perfect day for the girls.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shout out goes to God I could not have done any of this without strong faith and Him ordering my steps and then there is my daughter, Madisyn, who is also an Entrepreneur. She’s been my motivation, cheerleader, and someone I look up to as a woman in business. She opened Blueberri clothing boutique in New Orleans, LA. 4 years ago and worked so hard to make it successful locally and online.  I get more joy from seeing her blessings.   My clients have been instrumental in my success so they deserve recognition, I’m grateful that they trust me with their skin and they are so loyal.  Ive also read a few  books that have helped on this journey such as Beth Moore So Long Insecurity and Jamie Lima Believe It, these women are so encouraging in their stories and helped me believe in my dreams and the roadmap to achieve them!
