We had the good fortune of connecting with TaNashia Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TaNashia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
With any business you’re going to have your ups and downs. Some weeks and months may be great for you and other weeks may not be the best. I believe when you’re faced with the choice of quitting or pushing forward, one should ask him or herself why they began. Oftentimes when we go through things we tend to focus on the bad but when we reflect on why we’re doing things it puts everything into perspective. You never know whose life you could change and they are counting on you to keep going.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Clark Atlanta University which led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Social Work from Barry University. During my master’s program, I was exposed to a multitude of educational and professional experiences that allowed me to find my life calling, helping others.

The inception of my private practice, Fresh Approach Valued On Resilience (F.A.V.O.R). F.A.V.O.R, was in 2021. My practice provides Psychotherapy to Children and Families. The most important factor behind my brand is to be completely transparent and honest with the children and families that we work with. I let my clients know that we all experience difficult moments and have barriers that prevent us from being the best version of ourselves at times. The are quickly made aware that vulnerability is ok and that it’s a part of the process. Also, I let them know that they are very resilient and that they possess amazing qualities that will allow them to push through and weather any storm that he or she may experience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many spots that I love here in South Florida. When my family and friends come to visit some of my favorite restaurants to dine at are: Finga licking, Tap 42, Chef Creole, GG’s Waterfront, and Barton G for the over the top displays. The best shopping is always done at Aventura mall. For relaxation , I would take them to my favorite spa in the city, JW Marriot Turnberry, which also has a water park on campus. If they wanted to do outdoor activities I would take them to the everglades for a air boat tour to experience South Florida’s wild life or I would take them to the Wynwood Walls to observe some of the beautiful art. We would end the trip by renting a boat and going to the Miami sand bar. There is no other place to be on a Sunday!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I have to shout out God because without him none of this would be possible. My biggest cheerleaders is my mother Letitia whose no longer here with us, my father Delprado Sr., my brother Delprado II, my cousin Quanetra and so many other family and friends for always supporting and pushing me. I’ve had some amazing mentors that have really helped me throughout my career. Shout out to Marva Furlongue- Laver, Dhaima Chin, Kyrie Salters, Association of Black Social Worker Miami Dade Chapter, Barry University, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and so many others.
