Meet Tania Jokic | Mixed media artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tania Jokic and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tania, what inspires you?
What inspires me?
Love and joy are the two key emotions that are the main ingredients of my soul and guide me every time I start to create something new. I have an immense desire within me for all people to feel love and joy, and that has always been my guiding star. And whenever I start to create, I feel with my whole soul that my hand is guided by God.
Creativity has always been intertwined with my life because I am an eternal lover of the beauty of nature and colors. Creativity has also saved me and rescued me from low vibrational moments. Inspiration always came to me when my soul longed for God, who has been a part of my life since I became aware of myself. This manifested through writing poetry, painting, creating jewelry from semi-precious stones, and a perpetual love and optimism that I wanted to share with those who needed it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am contemporary artist specializing in Abstract Realism using mixed media.
I carried my gift and sensitivity for the value of life from my native Serbia to world metropolises where I fulfill the mission of an artist!
I studied English Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš, and soon my inspired spirit led me to London, where i spent 2 years perfecting my English language skills. Then, i traveled to Paris, the City of Light, where I enrolled in Psychology studies at Sorbonne, as well as Sophrology studies at the Dr. Allfonso Caycedo Institute.
In Paris, I lived for 27 years, working at a law firm until the call of adventure and the magic of life led me to new horizons. I chose the USA and the beautiful state of Florida, where I currently live and work.
Two years ago I enrolled in art studies at the Milan Art Institute.
I want the world to know that Art is not like a skill, it’s much more. It’s a passion and Devine calling, it’s voice, it’s tool to change the world in a positive way. Only if you have all this, you can expect that your painting contain and transmit energy to the viewer.
I strongly believe that art has the power to change the world.
I exhibited my paintings in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and many local Art Shows.
I want more people to know and experience my art which carries positive , happy and healing energy.
My poems had been published in many books and my first book of poetry named : “MY NAME IS LOVE “ is about to be published soon.
MY NAME IS LOVE
My neck is adorned by invisible necklace,
Full of melodies of love.
Every inch of my skin sparkles
With love,
I breath in and out… love.
Even though sometimes you make me angry,
Soulfully, I radiate love…
“My forgiveness is made of love,
My blessing is coming from love,
My faith has its base in love,
My body smells love,
My hair is just an extension of love,
My path is love,
My destination is love.
Nobody can change it
As Universal love dwells within me…”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends were visiting, I would show them local galleries and art collectives, Wynwood Walls – Miami, Coconut Grove and my favorite place of all : Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale and its art galleries.
For ambience, food and coffee time, I would suggest Magnolia cafe and Maggie’s Favorite in Fort Lauderdale which are my favorite.
I would show them the places that inspire me , where I come often to find peace and inspiration. Of course all credit goes to nature.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God has always had a significant place in my life, giving it meaning since I was born, and I have been building an increasingly close relationship with Him, going through tremendous storms and labyrinths that life threw at me while spiritually growing and raising two children on my own. He had the final say because He pulled me up from the bottom whenever I felt like I was falling and had no strength to continue. I believe He deserves credit for my creativity as a rescue because He bestowed it upon me as a tool against everything that wasn’t Him.
