Meet Tanita Misura | Creative Director & Founder of MPEOPLE DANCE CENTER

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanita Misura and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanita, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Dancing has given me many magic moments in my life. Dancing is a joy that unleashes your creativity, shapes your personality, and develops your body. Anything to do with music is amazing. When I opened the dance studio, I only thought about how to create a space where children would be happy, a place where I can share my experience with them, and create unforgettable memories that would stay with them forever. After all, going through life dancing means always shining. Therefore, in sunny Miami now there is MPEOPLE DANCE CENTER with the best teachers, the best classes, and an atmosphere where children bloom.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the founder and creative director of MPEOPLE DANCE CENTER. This is a dance studio and creative space for kids and adults. We represent contemporary dance styles such as hip hop, breakdance, and contemporary ballet. My business began from the understanding that there are so many dance schools around, and very few good ones. I decided that by combining my experience, skills, and talents, MPEOPLE would be a professional and unique dance studio in Miami. Everything we do, we do with love. Love for children, for details, and high attention to trifles. In every moment, in every inch of our space, there is this feeling. We have invested a lot of effort to create such a dance center, which becomes another home for kids, where parents are calm and happy, that their children are in good hands. We managed to do it, and we are happy to see the results.

Basically, doing business involves taking risks. But risks can be managed, minimize, or neutralized. All of these are very important details, but I believe that big goals and a sincere desire to benefit society will always win over obstacles on the way. After all, a business without an idea of being useful and helpful is a business without a future. Dance cannot start with money, it starts with music. Everything related to creativity must have a certain balance of different factors of our life. We are focused on what is really important, on our fundamental mission, and the main for us is that society sees and feels this. That’s why MPEOPLE are unique. And money is a consequence of our attitude to what we do. We must be honest with our clients. We never wear masks on our faces. We are sincere and open. People feel it, they really appreciate it and trust us.
I am not afraid to take responsibility and implement my plans. If you are on fire with an idea, you will succeed.

Business is like a baby, who needs you 24/7. At MPEOPLE I do what I love, and my children are also involved in it. This is my way of life and I follow it. I don’t separate myself from MPEOPLE. When you are happy with what you do, there is no problem, everything goes naturally. I have a happy family, my husband loves and supports me in everything, I have wonderful children, and I have the best dance studio in Miami with a lot of kids, and I love all of them. It is all balanced naturally already.

I also look very carefully at the people who work in my team. All PEOPLE team members share our values. It is very important for me that each person carries the DNA of MPEOPLE.

Moving from Ukraine to the USA is definitely one of the most difficult decisions in my life. Leaving my family, my home, and all my previous life to start a new life from scratch in a completely new unknown environment with a small child in my arms without the slightest understanding of what I can do here.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are now. I like it, because it is very suitable for our time full of uncertainties. You never know how your life will turn out. Take care of yourself, improving every day. In today’s world, it is very important to be flexible and constantly learn. Trends change weekly. The pace of life is insane. The main thing is to be always on the move and in the right mood.

I do not like frame thinking. Creativity is our freedom, our fictional world, and our augmented reality. Of course, we do not have absolute freedom, but creativity brings it closer. I even chose a dance style that corresponds to my philosophy – Hip Hop, of course, it is about freedom and limitless fantasy.

I had a happy childhood, and I was so lucky with my teacher, who changed me and my life direction for the better. I would be happy if one day my students would say the same about me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I like nature. It brings me power and the ability to be myself. So, I always recommend people visit natural parks, gardens, and our amazing beach places. Florida has a lot of them. I personally like Islamorada.
