We had the good fortune of connecting with Tathiana Rosado and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tathiana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With nearly 20 years in the PR world and experience across various industries, including fashion, luxury goods, real estate, hospitality, and design, I began to find my voice, follow my intuition, and get clear on my vision. I knew it was time to start a new chapter when I started Ciao Studio. In the last few years at my previous agency, I started feeling an urge to express myself differently, step outside my comfort zone, and approach storytelling in a style that resonates with me. It should be exciting, meaningful, passionate, and real. Brands have a unique opportunity to tell their stories in impactful ways, and I want to be a part of that conversation and facilitate making it happen. In a fast-paced, transactional world, I feel a deep calling to connect—with the people I work with, the journalists, the clients, and the team that makes it all happen. I value relationships and take time to foster connections. I love learning and connecting with people; it’s what drew me to PR in the first place.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
It’s a simple recipe but not simple to execute. Hard work, dedication, discipline, and a commitment to myself. My family and I immigrated in the late 80s to New York and I began working with my parents at the age of five. My whole life I’ve understood the value of hard work. It has never been easy but it has always been rewarding. During my college years, I went to school two days out of the week, and the other three days I was interning. By the time I graduated, I had five internships under my belt, and three weeks after graduating, I started my first job. Fast-forward almost 20 years since I started my career, I have learned some incredible lessons; 1) Always, always, always, follow your intuition. It is your compass, and the projector/light to your path and the expression of your most authentic self. Honor it 2) You are not the smartest person in the room. Listen, observe, and be open to the possibility of learning something new 3) Fuel your passion. Whatever it is, feed it. Do things that make you feel good inside but also do the things that make you feel uncomfortable. This is where the real growth happens 4) Work with people that inspire you. Work with good people as clients and as your teammates. 5) Invest equal time to all the things that you value in life. I learned this lesson the hard way. For years, I poured all of my time and energy into my career, until it caught up to me. Six years ago, I had a wake up call to wake up, and begin my journey back to myself. 6) Surround yourself with family and friends that really hold space for you and cheer you on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love when family and friends come visit me in Miami. I feel a deep sense of responsibility to show them a Miami beyond the glitz and glam, and party scene. Miami is deep, it’s dreamy, and the people are beautiful here, inside out. So much to do in a week but first and foremost, we have to go to the beach. I’d take them to Soho House and spend the day at the beach, have lunch, then take a little siesta before heading to dinner. During a week-long vacation, I’d make sure they get a little bit of everything from having a cafecito and croquetas at Tinta y Cafe, lunch at Mandolin or Graziano’s, sunset at The Standard, and dinner at either Jaguar Sun, Niu Kitchen, Boia de, or Tam Tam, and wrap up the night either at Miami Sound Bar, Medium Cool, or Dantes Hi Fi. For a very Miami clubrestaurant experience, I would probably take them to Mila or Cote. And if they want rooftop vibes, without a question will take them to the Rooftop at Klaw.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a great deal of the way that I am shaped today to my incredibly loving and supportive family. My core group of friends, are by far my biggest cheerleaders and are the angels that help guide me on my day-to-day, I couldn’t be more grateful to have them in my life. From a career perspective, I’ve been so lucky to be surrounded and mentored by incredibly strong and inspiring women; my mentors Stacie Henderson, Sofia Estevez, and Allison Greenfield. Over the years these women have been instrumental in shaping my career and my personal development. I am in deep gratitude for their guidance, support, and encouragement.
