We had the good fortune of connecting with Teenear and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Teenear, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I always knew that I enjoyed entertainment. At first, I really wanted to do musical theater because I love music, but I also really really loved acting. Acting was my main thing for most of my life. I had a moment in my room on my computer, and I came across this contest Justin Bieber was hosting to write a song to one of his instrumentals. In that moment, creating something for the first time, out of nothing sparked this love for me to be able to express myself in this way. Music and songwriting just became a cool outlet for me and I grew in love with being creative and artistic musically. Knowing that I could say something in my music that could touch somebody else, because they’re feeling the same way really makes me happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As of right now in my life, I am most proud of the project that I will be putting out soon. It’s been in the making/ something I’ve been talking about for a long time. Knowing all the ups and downs that I’ve been through throughout the years I could’ve easily just given up, but I know that everything that I’ve done and everything that I’m going to do will be way bigger than me. There is a purpose behind everything God has put in my path so far, and I’m excited to see it all play out and come to past

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly, I am not the best with coming up with itineraries but if a friend was coming in town I would definitely tell them to stop at one of my favorite restaurants, which is Smith and Wollensky’s which is located right on Southpoint. Over there, they would be able to see the beautiful water and experience the beach on what I think is the more calmer side of South Beach and depending on the time of the day, they may also be able to see the beautiful sunset

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my favorite books is The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren- it really lead me to think deeper on why I’m here. At the end of the day, everyone has a purpose. Some people might find their purpose earlier than others, and some people find it a lot later in life. That book really just allowed me to sit back, and evaluate things. I enjoyed reading and reflecting on the things that l’m good at, not just in a physical way but also a spiritual way, and also just evaluating what my reason is for being on this earth. I feel like a lot of people need to have those moments, because sometimes we may just be living life not realizing that we’re not living the life we’re meant to be living. I’m a spiritual person, so l apprecited the opportunity to take a moment with God and just really evaluate what he put me on this earth to do. That book for me really just opened my eyes a lot, and also helped build my relationship with God a lot more.
