We had the good fortune of connecting with The Polsky Group Brandon Polsky | Eli Polsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi The Polsky Group, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
We were born & raised in Broward County. Aside from leaving to attend Florida State University, we always knew South Florida is where we wanted to be. Our parents always stressed the importance of education and hard work so we’ve used our upbringing to grow our real estate business to where it is today. Both of our parents worked extremely hard to give us a better life than they had as kids and knowing how much they sacrificed to make that happen has inspired us to keep improving day by day.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In a world that seems to be dominated by technology, we think a lot of people in our industry have forgotten the importance of being hands-on and having real conversations with clients/potential clients. We believe people gravitate towards us because we understand that in this business, there are going to be tough times. In almost every transaction, there are going to be difficult decisions that need to be made and it’s up to us to guide our clients to make the best decision. These conversations can’t always be had over text/email/phone call. Clients don’t want to feel like another notch on the belt, they want to feel important and we strive to make every client feel important.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love to eat good so the itinerary would definitely be focused on visiting some of our favorite restaurants. We have too many to name but a few that we would want to make sure to visit are: Greek Islands Taverna, Cafe Martorano, Lung Yai Thai Tapas & Planta Queen. It’s a good variety of cuisines and all of them are guaranteed to be a great meal. Aside from the food, we’ve always loved the beach which is part of the reason we always wanted to stay in South Florida so a few beach days/boat days would have to be on the schedule as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy has been the most influential book that we’ve read. When building our business from scratch, there were countless days where we had to reflect on the work we were putting in daily and whether or not it was worth it. This book showed us the importance of consistency and staying focused on the bigger picture. To this day, we often discuss the principles we learned from The Compound Effect. Big shoutout to Darren Hardy!
