We had the good fortune of connecting with Theresa Siller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theresa, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
As an author and columnist, I’ve endured much ignoring in the publishing industry! I have desk drawers that no longer close, because they are full of snail mail rejections. I’ve gone through days when I feel very defeated. (Quick! Pull out the chocolate)! I wonder if all my hard work is worth it.
Then suddenly, I get an acceptance! I get invited to do a column! My essay makes it into an anthology! My mental health piece and devotional are complimented! My books somehow get fully edited, polished and for sale on Amazon!

This teaches me to keep effing going! One never knows what is around the corner. Just keep pluggin’, keep truckin’. “We walk by faith, and not by sight.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have a website, https://authortheresacorbleysiller.com

It shows all of my books available on Amazon.

I also write a column for Patheos Magazine, entitled, What Would I Do Without God? https://www.patheos.com/blogs/whatwithoutgod/2023/06/could-i-trust-god-during-the-mayhem-of-hurricane-ian/

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love the campground, Hanna Park. What a beautiful, serene place! There is something for everyone, with the wooded pathways for biking, and the beach access.

Martin Coffee Company gave us a tour. You can watch the coffee beans being roasted in the gigantic vat, right after they arrive on the barge from the St. John’s River, right across the street!

We enjoy the Triple A Baseball Team, The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. I even got a wayward ball last time we attended!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate my shoutout to Lynne Heinzmann, who is an award-winning author and accomplished editor, who helped me for more than a year on my Young Adult Novel, What Happened at Soaring High Dance Academy? God Happened. Her book, “But Cats Don’t Talk”, is coming out this October, and her website is lynneheinzmann.com

Lynne has many clients who come to her for Book Coaching and Editing.

Lynne is incredible. No other word adequately describes her!
