We had the good fortune of connecting with Theresa Torrone and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Theresa, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I was a single mother to my daughter for seven or eight years until I met my now fiancé and I always stressed to my daughter that we are a team. I think that is my biggest impact as a parent. When children are young they want to be useful, they want to help out and I allowed my daughter to do so. She helped me cook dinner or make her lunch, she helped fold laundry and put away the groceries. I think this gave her a sense of confidence, she may be small but she could do big things that grownups do. As she grew older she claimed her independence and didn’t shy away from cooking dinner for herself or doing her own hair and makeup for dance competitions and performances. Being a part of our family’s team gave my daughter the confidence to believe in her abilities and proved that she is capable of doing many things. It taught her that she posses the skills to thrive in life and when she needs help the team will be there to support her and cheer her on. She is only thirteen but she is already taking on her world and I believe that’s all do to my impact as a parent and her team leader.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everyone always says “If you do what you love, you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” I have embraced this sentiment fully and I am proud to have followed my passion and in doing so created a life I am in love with. It’s wonderful that I get to see so many beautiful places and experience various cultures and cuisines, but the best part of traveling and exploring a new destination is simultaneously discovering (or should I say uncovering) a part of yourself! Travel connects one to Self, nature, culture, history, family and much more all at once. Exploring the world gives us an opportunity to simultaneously explore the world within our self! That is the most beautiful outcome of a vacation, whether it is solo travel or multigenerational. I love that I get to create an itinerary for myself and my clients that allows them to marvel and grow at the same time! How blessed am I that I get to create lifelong memories for my clients by making their travel dreams a reality!!!
As a Travel Advisor, I listen to the interests and desires my clients have for their vacation. I ask detailed questions to get a deeper understanding of the purpose of their trip and what they want to take away from this experience and adventure. I make recommendations based on their needs and their interests and I believe this builds a trust between myself and my clients. I am able to see the big picture of what this vacation means to them and create customized itineraries that are unique to the client and their exploration of the destination of their choice. Relationship building, as well as, understanding and executing a client’s vision is what has gotten me to where I am in my profession. Embarking on a journey is more than just a destination; it’s about crafting unforgettable memories. As a dedicated Travel Advisor, I curate personalized adventures tailored to my clients desires, ensuring every moment is infused with magic and meaning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d love to shoutout my daughter, Ella, who has supported and encouraged me every step of my career journey. She is an old soul who is wise beyond her years and always reminded me to follow my heart and to do things that make me happy!
I would also love to shoutout my friend and the founder of Travelista Travels, Amanda, who has blessed me with an opportunity to do what I love and supports me in the travel industry and making my love for travel a career. She has generously given me many opportunities to learn, explore, grow and take my place in the industry.
I am forever grateful to these two beautiful souls for their love and support and for empowering me to take my place in the world!
