We had the good fortune of connecting with Thomas Hawes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Thomas, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Learning how to work efficiently at a high intensity is just as important as taking an appropriate amount of time to relax and recharge. I ask myself questions like ” How can I do more with less” and “What actions are providing me with the highest ROI, in terms of enjoyment, fulfillment and growth,” I’ll proceed by doing those activities more often. This does require introspection, time and energy for the process to work, but it is essential.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m determined to create authentic art, serve the world and to be well balanced. Being connected with a higher purpose has guided my journey, we all have a unique path that is in perfect harmony with the universe and I’m here to explore that. When it comes to my creative pursuits, humbly accepting that I am a vessel for my art to shine through allows me to get into deep flow states where I tend to create my best work, alot of it is getting out of my own way.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give a shoutout to the people around me, for inspiring and motivating me to continue to do what I do best and for letting me take countless photographs of them. There have been entities like jjjjound, Reece Cooper, Mac Miller, Kanye West, Sean Brown, Purienne, Gunner Stahl, Cian Moore, Ram Dass, Alan Watts, Steve Jobs, Rick Rubin and Drake that all deserve to be recognized as impactful inspirations in my life.
