We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
My parents inspire me! Growing up my mom who is a master seamstress had her own boutique, and my dad had a car wash. Me and my brothers would spend weekends at my moms shop, and during the week our school bus would drop us off at my dads car wash. At that time I was aware of them having their own businesses, but didn’t understand until I grew up the influence that it had on me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My food is my art, we eat first with our eyes before we do our mouth. I love for my food to be beautiful first, and taste good second. Serving pretty food helps catch a customers eye before anything else. I pride myself with serving foods that are pleasing to the eye. Hard work got me where I am today, staying true and honest to who I am reflects in my brand.
It definitely was not easy, but it was worth it. I wouldn’t change anything about my story, because it shaped me into who I am today.
My brand is not easily accepted in the average food service industry. The name is confusing, but once I explain what my brand stands for, the meaning of the name, my credentials, and lastly they taste the food it changes everything.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
South Beach for the culture and food. Los Olas, Dave’s Cuban Cafe, and Wet Willie’s for drinks. Evenings would be the Clevelander and Ocean’s Ten. I know that sounds like a tourist trip but I lived on sobe for ten years so I’m comfortable there. Downtown and Bayside is a must, eating at the Hardrock Cafe and drinking at Fat Tuesdays. If it’s basketball season we’d check out a Heat game at the arena, and definitely stop by the museum. It’s a must we do a few days in Wynwood, checking out the markets, cute cafes, and art. The design district is a must along with vintage midtown. Miami is so grand I don’t think a week is long enough. Definitely have to have a beach day, south beach, north beach, sunny isles, etc. We’d shop in Aventura, and ride the city buses, I could go on and on Miami doesn’t sleep so the party would never stop.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
While operating my doordash store from home during the pandemic, I got an email from Stephanie G. Stephanie was running the Inspiring Minds summer camp, and wanted to know would I be interested in feeding the camp. I was overjoyed, and accepted, I went on to feed them fresh living foods, and educate them on exotic fruits that I would prepare. We connected, and began to just talk about what I was doing and where I wanted to go with my brand. We networked and she played a major role in me getting my first brick and mortar. God always finds the right people to put in our lives at the right time. I have so much gratitude for her reaching out and giving my brand a try.
