We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Purdy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I struggled for years as a bartender. Twelve to be exact. I was living from Tip to tip, not even paycheck to paycheck. It was rough for a very long time, but once I became a mother I knew if I didn’t invest in myself and my family, no one would. I didnt want to get stuck struggling for the rest of my life. I just wanted more for my family, so I got a little crafty. In 2016 I started Paint N Drink, a mobile art studio on the go! I was approached, by a now long term friend, about working for and then eventually buying Paint N Drink. After a couple years of great success with Paint N Drink, in 2018 I expanded and started doing Paint N Puff classes. Legalization hit the state, so I was finally free to come out of the Cannabis Closet. These cannabis friendly art workshops are a fun way to create in an environment full of like minded artists. We consume, create, and converse. Im so greatful to have made so many personal life long connections though my business venture. Paint N Puff is now my main focus. I’m a MMJ patient, and Cannamom, and advocate for cannabis legalization. I use my platform to educate people on the benefits of natural plant medicine, and to break the Stigma that is still so very prevalent today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m proud of myself for keeping on keepin’ on. It’s not easy venturing into a business surrounded by such a negative Stigma. Still today, I find it hard to host public events for Paint N Puff. Most of my pARTies are private because people are still so afraid of cannabis consumption. I spent years booking events and it just amazes me that there is still such a lack of education on the matter. STILL… five years after medical cannabis has become legal in Florida. I can book fifty public Paint N Drink workshops with ease a year. But, I struggle to book one or two public Paint N Puff workshops annually. It hasn’t been easy, but I keep on grinding.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I’m not painting I spend most of my free time in nature. If my bestie came to town I would spend the day adventuring all the sweet secret spots Palm Beach County has to offer. We would start the morning off at Sailfish Marina, morning mimosas and breakfast. Then, swing over to the boat ramp, and hop on the boat and ride over to P-nut Island. There are so many cool snorkel spots surrounded by tons of sea life on the island. Blue Heron Bridge is also one of the top snorkle/scuba must do’s when you’re in town. After a bit of snorkeling we could check out the JFK bunker on the island. I’m also a history buff! Once the island adventures are over, we’d head home to clean up. Once we spruce ourselves up we would head downtown to Clematis. I always take my friend to my favorite bar downtown. O’shea’s Irish Pub, they have the best beer cheese pretzels! I also painted an interactive mural at O’shea’s, so you know I have to show that off. To close the night we would maybe catch a movie at City Place, or a show at the Improv.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest support system has been my family and friends, but most of all my husband. He is the one who pushes me to be the best version of myself that I can be. Both personally, and on a business level. Mr. Purdy, thank you for always supporting my crazy ideas, endless nights of painting, and the chaos that is my art.
