We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffini Spry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffini, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
I’ve made myself consistently available and open to learning. I’ve tried to align myself with people who have been here longer, know more and have achieved more than I have. Being in environments where we can learn from those that have “been there, done that!” can accelerate growth and also help us to avoid pitfalls.

Secondarily: The importance of community. I believe whole heartedly in collaboration over competition…we can ALL win!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Today, I’m owner and operator of a photo booth business that incorporates both traditional photo booths and those of the newer 360 style.

Up until April of 2022 I had a career in pharmaceutical and device sales that spanned 17 years. I walked away from that career to find something new and allow myself time to see what else was out there for me. It was a bit symbolic indeed but as I was preparing to turn 40 I wanted to live life more on my own terms.

In walking away from corporate America it allowed me more time to pour into POSE! which I had been doing part time (mostly weekend events).

Over the past few months I’ve worked harder, for longer hours and with more responsibilities than ever! But you know what? It’s an amazing feeling. I’m doing this for ME and for my family…on my own terms.

It’s been hard…but it’s also been incredibly worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love living in Charlotte, NC. The city offers a lot to do, see and experience. I’m known to indulge in “day dates” with myself just to explore and enjoy!

Here are some of my faves:

To eat: Leah & Louise, La Belle Helen, Village Tavern & O-ku for sushi.

To drink: I love a sophisticated cocktail crafted by a true mixologist! Sophia’s Lounge, The Punch Room, Eddie V’s and Merchant and Trade all have exquisite drinks with nice views and vibes.

To experience: a stroll thru Noda, a scooter ride in South End along the rail trail with a stop at the heart Wall next to Jeni’s right before you stop in for a double scoop, and also bring a blanket so you can sit on the grass in Romere Bearden Park and soak up some sun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve got to give a huge shout of thanks to my husband Troy Spry. He’s encouraged and supported me from day 1! He saw things in me at the start of this entrepreneurial journey that I didn’t see in myself and he’s always pushed me to dream bigger and do more.

Also, my “3 the hard way” crew Aliya Ray and Kenitra Huey. We formed a connection via business that grew into a friendship.
