We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
I am really big into music! I think music keeps all people of all walks of life together. My goal and purpose of being a music promoter is to keep that spirit alive. As long as people are able to attend music events that I set up, that’s how I want to end professionally, knowing I brought people together.
What should our readers know about your business?
My brand or company Hypnotized Promotions was established in 2012. Being a music promoter is not easy. You gotta get in good with music venues, the owners and have a great connect to artist. I have conquered all of the above by steady grinding, hard work. If someone tells you no, you keep going till you get a yes. It’s a constant job. Sometime, we’ll most times 7 days a week, of calling, messaging, social media, networking, you name it. The key is to never, ever give up, and always walk away smiling. Sometimes you make great money, sometimes it’s a bust. But keep pushing, is my key to success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well just moving to the Mississippi gulf coast from being in the US Virgin Islands the last 4 years is really different. But originally being from the NC coast, I am pretty relaxed. I would definitely take them about 30 min away to Biloxi, the Vegas of the gulf coast, to check out the casinos and night life. Let’s not forget the fresh seafood for food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
