Meet Tomás Calderón | Club de Campeones – F1 Posters

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tomás Calderón and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tomás, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have been around entrepreneurs my whole life my grandfathers, uncles, parents and cousins, I know it’s a roller-coaster and it always had challenges but its worthy. At Christmas of 2019 I order online a poster of the Formula 1 World Champions, I was very excitement because F1 is my passion since I was 6 years old. But when it arrives, I was disappointed, the quality was awful and the dimension where to small, so that motivated to design my own poster, once I made the first one, I know something else its missing so I made the Helmets and some iconic tracks poster. Once I printed the posters, I put a frame on them and hang them in my room. Later at 2021 in the pandemic I decided to created my own brand (Club de Campeones) to sell them online, at first everything’s its very challenge and you don’t know there to start so I study the market and I see that everyone’s related to F1 world its selling merchanting like T- shirts and caps so I see a gap in the market. I launched in 2022 and they start to sell online. Since them I had the opportunity to attended to a couple of Grand Prix which it’s an experience that I recommend to everybody.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It starts as a simple buy online for a poster of a sport that its my passion and I enjoy. But it took form after I finished my career and don’t really know what path to take. So, I began to search and study online different ways to made money so I buy a course. The course was about starting your own ecommerce and it gave you some ideas, tools and advice so you have success and don’t burn all your money. I follow the instructions it was hard and it had many challenges and even today I continue improving and studying.

It’s an ecommerce that sell Formula 1 posters of the champion’s cars, helmets and iconic tracks their measures are 50 x 30 cm. You can buy it alone or if you what with a frame. In the F1 world all the store are focused on Merchandise special T-shirts and caps so I my main idea was making something different and that have good quality.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Colombia but Miami it’s such a cool place. So, first of all, if you want to go to Miami you had to go on April and May so you had the opportunity to go the Miami Open and of course The Miami Grand Prix of Formula 1. On the eve to the Grand Prix there are many events related to the motor world. Like the Williams fan zone in Lincoln Road where you can see the F1 Car, buy some merchandise and there are also F1 simulator. In Aventura Mall you can find some F1 Cars this year where the Reb Bull of Max Verstappen and the Mercedes of George Russell. If you are fan of the sports you that to attend to a match of Inter Miami where Lionel Messi play. And another very cool spot it’s bayside with the sky view observation wheel.
