We had the good fortune of connecting with Tonya Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tonya, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my business was the need to fulfill my life purpose that tugged at my heart.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Founder of The Fabulous Woman Pageant & Proud & Pretty Pageant
Owner of Lady Odessa’s Closet women’s apparel
Owner & Event Planner of Event One by Tonya
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d take them to our beautiful beaches. I’ve found a love for the beach in my later years. Jacksonville has phenomenal talents here so I’d definitely take them to see a play, band or night of poetry.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
10 years ago I founded a women’s pageant titled Fabulous Woman Pageant. I am a huge advocate of empowering and uplifting women. I’ve been blessed to work with 150 women as my contestants within the 10 years. Those women have been what fuels my purpose. Words cannot say how much my heart gets filled with pouring into so many women from all walks of life.
