We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori Kayla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tori, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business helps women globally by assisting them in their job efforts. When I was searching for remote, freelance job opportunities I thought to myself “there has to be a better way to quickly search roles in my niche without searching multiple sites and filtering through irrelevant jobs”. This exact though was the catalyst that caused me to create a business that solved this problem. I now have the luxury of serving my community and helping women in creative industries find new careers.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Her Hub is different from other job sites because we aren’t only hosting jobs, we’re actively going out and finding them. Major job sites are amazing, but they tend to be oversaturated with jobs, have old job listings mixed in with newer ones and ultimately can leave candidates feeling like their chances of actually getting to the interview round are slim to none. We approach the job search differently. We check different websites (not major job sites that are highly competitive) daily to find out who’s hiring and share that information on our site. This helps our members be some of the first to apply to jobs and get direct information on who’s hiring so they can connect. I’m most proud of myself for building this as there’s been such a demand due to COVID. I saw that most major job sites weren’t catering to a specific niche and making it easier for candidates to actually have a chance at being seen. So, I decided to take the time daily to find those jobs and create a space for women looking for remote marketing-related jobs. It wasn’t easy in the beginning, because I didn’t have a blueprint as to how I was supposed to operate the business. I wanted to help people find jobs, but wasn’t sure how to really piece it all together into a cohesive “hub”. Through trial (and a lot of errors), I finally created a solid blueprint that has lead to curating a membership of over 600 women worldwide. I’m very excited to keep expanding and looking forward to hiring an all female team to help me continue to grow the business.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a beach girl, (and so is my best friend!), so we would definitely be hitting up the beach multiple days during the week. To show her the most of the city, I’d take her to South Beach because it’s a must visit for tourists. Depending on the time of day, we’d probably pop over to The Big Pink for their chicken and waffles OR the sugar factory for their candy-filled goblets. If we were looking for a more chill beach day, I’d go a bit north to Hallandale beach area. It’s farther out of the city, but I love the vibe there! For hanging out and shopping, we’d definitely have to make our way south to Dadeland Mall and Sunset place. The combination of shopping and entertainment is perfect with these two spots is perfect for a chill day outing. I love eating food! To me, it’s one of the best things you can do to “have fun”, so I’d definitely try to fit some of my favorite food spots into the trip. A few of my must haves include: + Tap 42 for brunch + Luke’s Lobster rolls for lunch + Miss Cheezious for anytime + Coyo Taco for late night tacos + Barton G for a dress up dinner + Azucar for ice cream Overall, Miami is a really big city! But these visiting places in Coral Gables, Little Havana, South Beach, Wynwood, and Aventura I think gives you a glimpse at how diverse and fun Miami can be.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say my inner tribe (my mom, my best friend and my boyfriend) is really responsible for encouraging me and supporting me throughout my journey. The have all ALWAYS told me that I am intelligent, capable and will always make it through, even when the tough times got to me. Each have played a huge role in helping me move forward in my business, boosting my confidence as an entrepreneur and empowering me to be all that I am capable of being. Their love, encouragement and support are definitely one of the top contributors to my success today.
