We had the good fortune of connecting with Tova Palomino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tova, what is the most important factor behind your success?
What was important for me and my success is to always have a healthily relationship with my businesses. I treat my businesses like a relationship and I want to always be fill wit love and joy when I work. I never want to view my businesses as “toxic” or “overwhelming” because I feel that will reflect on my work ethnic which would affect my customers’ experience.

What should our readers know about your business?
God-ish Skin was originally a hobby of mine. It was a side project that I did to create a skincare line with clean ingredients to develop and maintain a skincare routine. At the time, I was in the entertainment industry and I wanted to find ways to improve my appearance so that I could stand out. Living in Los Angeles, that industry was very competitive and I wanted to do anything that I can to look and feel my best. I wanted my company to reflect my spiritual path which is why it is called “God-ish Skin”. All products are named after a deity or religious significant person. My company is a reflection of my spiritual growth and as I became stronger in my path of inner peace, my company expanded.
In the beginning, I had some challenges. I started my company with no plan, no capital, just money that I saved from my odd jobs. It also took a lot of my time because even though I would work a “9-5”, I would be working on God-ish Skin from that 5-whenever I go to bed. That can be overwhelming taking on a lot of roles when you first start.
I overcame the challenges as I improved on my time management skills and business ethnics. I learned through working with a mentor ways I could improve my businesses and I also invested more time and money into my business.
One lesson that I learned is that your family and friends are not your demographic. What I mean by that is that you should not base your sales and growth on the people that are around, but cater to the ones that are not because they will support your dreams.
I would want the world to know that I created God-ish Skin as a company that aides everyone in developing and maintaining a skincare routine. I kept God-ish Skin alive because I have seen how impactful it has become in people’s lives and I’m grateful to have had that opportunity to improve a person’s self-esteem.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As soon as my best friend touch road, we are immediately going to The Crafty Crab. They are my favorite when it comes to a seafood broil and I know that my BFF would enjoy. I would then take her to the Pembroke Gardens outdoor mall where we can walk about and enjoy the scenery and it’s a great place to people watch. For our night time activities, we are definitely going to Da Cave. It’s a nightclub in Miami and it has the best DJs. Throughout the week, I would recommend locations like the following:
-Wynwood
-Dunakoo Restaurant
-Victory Restaurant and Lounge
-Las Olas
-Downtown Clematis in West Palm Beach

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today without my friends and sorority sisters. It was a Soror who pushed me, well threaten me lol, to get out of my comfort zone to create God-ish Skin and my friends was the first to try my samples. I also want to shout out all the strangers turned supporters who purchased my products and provided me feedback. I also want to show gratitude to my boyfriend who has been my personal test subject and cheerleader.
