Meet Trailsage

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Trailsage again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Trailsage, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Sage and I’m a content creator on YouTube and co-host a weekly mountain bike podcast called the “Ride and Laugh MTB Podcast”. I created “TrailSage” as a way to highlight the different places I ride, and products and gear I use. Working in production for over 22 years has given me the skills and resources to create fun energetic videos that help me reach out to the MTB community. The goal has always been about getting people excited to ride new places, teach them new skills, and infuse the community with positive vibes while spreading the stoke!

Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
In the past year I have completely overhauled my mindset, focusing on the unlimited nature of our capabilities and knowledge. “We are not who we think we are. We are so much more!” Realizing one’s potential and staying high vibe has changed how I approach my riding, but more importantly, my life. It’s something that I get to work on every day, and the results have been incredible!
Having a positive attitude and recognizing that things are happening for me, and not too me, has been a game changer, and this new mindset is reflected in my work. In fact, that’s what sets our podcast apart from most other MTB podcasts. We focus just as much on mindset as we do on skill set and technique.
We are not afraid to share our struggles and have a few laughs along the way and invite our viewers and listeners to join us on our journey to become the riders we want to be.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.

Life is often about tough choices – can you talk to us about your thought process, strategy or philosophy when it comes to making difficult choices or tradeoffs.
I find there are so many synchronicities in life and in mountain biking. We are often faced with many struggles on and off the trail, but you will always find the most success if you go with your intuition and the belief that everything will work out in the end.
In the podcast we talk about finding that “Flow State” where you ride on instinct and trust in your skills. Life is the same way. Trust in your ability, believe you are worthy, and keep a positive attitude. If you are constantly telling yourself “Oh, I can’t do this” or “That’s not who I am” then you are effectively giving your brain permission to fail.
Finding gratitude in the most difficult moments will help you keep a high vibe. Have grace for yourself when things are not going to plan and remember, we are not our thoughts! We are unlimited!
