We had the good fortune of connecting with Tre Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tre, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business is all about assisting others in becoming a better version of themselves! Physically, mentally, and emotionally! Through nutrition & exercise. By them elevating in those three categories, to inspire others to work on themselves as well

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I truly enjoy weight-loss transformations! Working with men and women who have been struggling with their weight for long periods of time, and completely transforming their physical, mental, and emotional well-being for the better. Watching and being apart of the journey is truly a blessing! And to see the increase in self-esteem and self-confidence is truly an honor as well.

I’d say I got to where I am today businesswise from watching, listening, and studying others who have been in the fitness industry much longer than myself. Along with learning from my mistakes and being open to receive wisdom. I truly enjoy watching business interviews from not only people in the fitness industry, but all industries! Being open minded is a true advantage in business, because you’re constantly looking for ways to be better at what you love to do.

Was it easy? Definitely not! When I first started my business a ton of people thought I was crazy, they didn’t believe that being a fitness trainer was a successful career field to go into! But everyone isn’t supposed to see the vision God or your higher power placed in you, so you have to be planted firmly in what you believe, because if you expect others to jump on board you will be in for a rude awakening.

I overcame challenges by staying consistent and mastering my craft! I knew that if I put in the work (reading, studying, etc) I could really be a phenomenal trainer. I actually enjoyed being nervous when I first began, because that feeling made me really want to be on point with each client. When someone is putting their life in your hands, that’s a lot of pressure!

I learned that balance is extremely important. Eating healthy and exercising is much needed! But also love, rest and laugher is just as important and play a huge part in our health journey.

I would like the world to know that Massif Fitness Training was created by a guy from Tennessee who took his childhood trauma and used it as a way to assist others become healthier internally and externally. Through all the adversities that we face in our lives we have to stay focused and stay driven when it comes to our health and wellness

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first place I would take them would be Wynwood walls art district! To show them the creativity of South Florida.

Then we would migrate over to Bayside to give them a taste of the beautiful diversity in cultures.

Since I’m a trainer, we would head to South Beach and get a workout in there at their outdoor fitness park on the beach!

And you can never go wrong with food! Komodo, Mau & Ocean Grill are great restaurants to bring a tourist to! Those are just to name a few!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My passion and drive for what I do stimulates from my parents, they are the reason why I fell in love with health & wellness to begin with. Watching their health decline as a kid really affected me emotionally & mentally. Then when they passed away it really took the pain to another level, but their deaths gave me the motivation and desire to assist others in becoming healthier to prevent health issues that can be prevented.
