We had the good fortune of connecting with Treassy Jasmin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Treassy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is the possibility of something bad happening. When you work as a model, you have to continually take chances by investing in things like clothes, makeup, hair products, and more while also chasing specific contracts. But in order to succeed without taking on too much risk when it comes to finances, it’s crucial to explore which kind of modeling is best for you. This way, you won’t spend your time and money on areas in which you have no interest. Taking risk as a model played a major role in my beginning modeling career. I been told no by a lot of designers due to the fact that I was to young or to short. Although, I know it’s 50/50 possibility of me being apart of shows due to the reason mentioned above I still go out my way and take the risk to go to casting. Being a beginner model is very hard because you need to have a lot of connections to do a lot of things. And you also have to be confidence in yourself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am proud of myself for being able to push through the challenges I faced as a young model. Getting where I am today required me to step outside of my comfort zone to do things I have never done before, it also required me being social. It was not easy to step outside of my normal ways. But in life you have to do things in order to meet the right people and be able to open up your mind to learning more while at it. I overcome my challenges by learning that I am not alone and that I have a great support system here for me. I also prayed a lot to overcome my obstacles. The lesson I learned along the way is to be myself regardless of what happens. Being able to be yourself allows more opportunities to come in your way because you don’t have to hide who you truly are to other if you really want things to work.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Starting a modeling career might be difficult, especially if you don’t have the financial assistance. But throughout this road, my family and friends have been my foundations of strength and support. They supported me every step of the way and gave me provide guidance. I want to shoutout my boyfriend for always being here and coming to every single one of my shows as my number one supporter. Seeing him in the crowd of my shows always brings me joy to do better and also give me more confidence. My agency ( John Casablancas) also played a role in my modeling I would not have known more about modeling without the help of my agency. In spite of the difficulties, I am appreciative of the kind individuals who have helped me a long the way.
