We had the good fortune of connecting with Trey Temple and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
There were layers to my thought process when starting my business. At the time, my brother and I were doing music, and as things became expensive, we looked for ways to generate additional income. I initially started a clothing brand, and through that, I developed an interest in photography because I wanted to create my own visuals for the brand. From that point, I taught myself how to use the camera and became fascinated with capturing lifestyle images. Over time, I refined my skills and tailored my style and business to focus on lifestyle photography.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With my photography, which is my art, I love capturing authentic lifestyle moments. I’m not someone who focuses too much on posing because I know most people feel uncomfortable with it. Instead, I aim to create a relaxed environment and capture a lot of off-guard moments, which are key to bringing out genuine emotions and creating great shots.

What sets me apart from others is the experience my clients have with me. It’s top-tier—from great energy to great photos to an unforgettable session. My work reflects that energy, making the entire experience unmatched.

What I’m most proud and excited about is the fact that my work resonates with so many people. It’s allowed me to travel across the country and around the world, which has truly been a blessing. But it hasn’t been easy. It’s taken a lot of risk-taking and learning through losses, but those risks have led to great gains. I’ve overcome challenges by staying consistent. Consistency is key—staying motivated, staying connected to my purpose, and following through on the goals I set for myself. I’ve also learned to trust what feels right for my spirit and stay aligned with that.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is that growth and success require taking risks. Not every risk is worth taking, but when something aligns with your spirit, no one can guide you through it—you have to walk through that door yourself and trust the journey.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that I promote positivity and great energy. My work speaks for itself. I love inspiring others, and I’m always eager to learn. I’m a sponge—I never assume I know everything. I surround myself with photographers and visionaries who have more experience or different perspectives, and I feed off that energy. Growth happens when you stay open to learning and evolving.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was in town, I’d probably take them to Manhattan—obviously, because I’m from New York, and everyone loves Manhattan. Times Square would definitely be a must-see. For a week-long trip, we’d explore different spots since I’m a Yelp kind of guy. I love finding unique places, especially for food—whether it’s seafood, soul food, Thai food, or anything in between.

I’d also take them to different lounges, and one of my favorites is Good Vybez Bar and Lounge out on Long Island. The food and drinks there are amazing. New York is full of incredible places, and there’s something amazing to experience everywhere you go.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I certainly wouldn’t be where I am today without the love and support of my family and close friends. My brother, in particular, has played a huge role in my journey, from our early days doing music to encouraging me as I ventured into photography. I also want to give a shoutout to everyone who believed in me and trusted me to capture their moments when I was just starting out. Their support and confidence gave me the motivation to keep pushing forward and refine my craft. Lastly, I’m grateful for the creative community around me that continues to inspire and challenge me to grow
