We had the good fortune of connecting with Trinket+Vine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trinket+Vine, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Vine: We started as coworkers who eventually became friends as we bonded over our love of design, Disney and being creative. Our business began as a way to express ourselves through our friendship.

Trinket: That’s true! We are likeminded. We were both into pin trading and one day we went from talking about it to sketching our first idea. Our friendship grew from this venture that’s the most important part.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We began our business at the beginning of the covid pandemic. There was nothing easy about that. It’s funny to think that we thought the whole thing would be over by the end of summer. Maybe stretch into Halloween. Not being able to grab some food and a drink to brainstorm was difficult but having to communicate through video chat, emails and calls helped us gain a better understanding of the other. More importantly it strengthened our friendship

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely start Downtown, early with breakfast at Honey Salt. Then off to Canada Place. Gotta show off the Olympic Torch we all paid for. Then depending on the weather, we might walk the Sea Wall, explore Coal Harbour or stop by Neverland Tea House for High Tea.

Eventually we’d turn around and head towards Gastown. Grab a late lunch for happy hour at Gringo Tacos for tacos and drinky drinks.

For the evening, we’d end the day in Yaletown or Olympic Village for views of Science World. Then head home because you need to be properly rested for U-Pick berries at Emma Leas Farm in Delta and the drive out to Langley for wine touring the following day.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would like to shout out our families and friends. They have been supporting us long before we every decided to take this journey. They wear our products, display our stickers and they share posts all over social media. We see the love and it is wholeheartedly reciprocated.
