We had the good fortune of connecting with Trish, AKA, Power Girl Utter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trish, AKA, Power Girl, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had work very hard as an employee and saw companies benefit from my hard work without me reaping any of the profits. I also saw how other companies treated their customers and wanted to give clients a better experience.
I realized that if I wanted the right kind of life for myself with flexibility I had better work for myself. Funny but I actually work much harder for myself. You never stop working when you are you’re own boss, but I love what I do, and as the saying goes, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I really enjoy helping people in the automotive world get the most out of their social media, websites and ad campaigns. I have over 40 years of magazine experience, as a publisher, writer and photographer. This is powerful experience that my clients can tap into. I take time to listen and find opportunities for businesses to excel.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a car girl I would have to take them to visit my friend Jan at #Janlife in Wynwood. He rents exotic super cars and has an impressive collection. I would also take them to The Collection in Coral Gables. A large new car dealer that has a spectacular venue. It is like a department store of luxury cars. You will find Rolls, Royce, McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin and more under one roof. I love the fashion District. This is a place that many tourists miss out on. It is also a great place to photograph your car. I take mine to the roof of the parking garage where there is a mural. Looks stunning! There are many wonderful cafes and restaurant in this area. Well worth exploring.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think my wonderful kids were a driving force in my success. My daughter put a note on my bathroom mirror when she was 10 years old. It said, Don’t give up, You will succeed. They both supported what I was doing and I took them to meetings so they could learn about business.
