We had the good fortune of connecting with Twailla Lattimore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Twailla, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
The new found habits all started in 2018. I had been married a little over a year at this time. My marriage became abusive, toxic and filled with infidelity in this short time. This caused me to mentally check out and really forget about everything around me. I developed bad habits that really wasn’t serving me and helping me to grow. My children and my health began to suffer. I knew I needed to get rid of these habits in order to become successful. The first one was putting God first in EVERYTHING. I had allowed so many other things and people to come before Him, that my life began to spiral in a downward motion. I had allowed people and other things to even come before me. Prayer became a non-negotiable. I needed spiritual guidance before anything else would change. I began to stand on the scripture in Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) that says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” I then had to change my mindset. The change that I desired wasn’t going to come from the same way of thinking. I got tired of doing the same thing and getting the same result. I began surrounding myself with people that are successful. I started meditating daily. This allowed me to clear my mind and focus at the beginning of each day. I started speaking affirmations over myself and I still do. The “I Am” before an affirmation is very powerful. I also started reading books to learn the things that successful people had learned. I realized through self development daily, that my life had completely changed. Once you change your mindset, your life will never be the same.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My name is Twailla Lattimore, RN and Health and Wellness Coach that help women take their lives back by encouraging, inspiring and motivating them to achieve their health and wellness goals, mind, body and spirit. I support them along the way in any way possible.

I have been in the healthcare industry since 2005. I started off as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA). I had some challenges that I had to overcome to get to where I am at today in my career. I went to college for nursing right out of high school, but had to leave due to financial issues. During my career as a CNA, I was told that I would never finish college because I had to children and I was a single mother of two. I love a challenge and proving people wrong when I know that I am capable of accomplishing my goals and dreams.
I finished nursing school in 2016 while pregnant with my third child and at the top of my class. That is something that I am very proud of. Outside of my children, this is one of my biggest accomplishments. Many sleepless nights and crying made it all worth it! I finally truly had a way to make a difference in my children’s life.

Me being a Registered Nurse and with 17 years of experience in the healthcare industry, it allows me to give my clients with my Health and Wellness Coaching business, Women Growing Gracefully, a thorough assessment before they start a plan that works for them. I truly care about my clients mind, body and spirit, the same as if I was taking care of a patient.

The biggest lesson I have learned along this journey, is to never give up on myself. It doesn’t matter what people say or think about me, I’m going to go after my dreams and goals. I also realized that everyone may not support or believe in you and that is okay.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My friends and I love to travel. I have 5 friends from high school that I travel with. Traveling is one thing that we try to do often whether is just because or celebrating one of our birthdays. Since we are all parents, we would first begin by enjoying the peace and quiet of not hearing “mom” lol. Rest and relaxation would be a big priority. The mountains are beautiful and peaceful. We would go to the Smoky Mountains and enjoy the scenery. To get our exercise in and also take in nature we would go hiking at the trails they have. Water would be the drink of choice to keep us hydrated. We would go to the spa and get massages and facials as selflove and selfcare are important to us as we are all busy working women and moms. We would enjoy some wine while getting pampered. Sitting by the fireplace and sipping some wine would be one of our past times in the cabin to also relax. We are also big kids at heart so we would be visiting the arcades, go karts and other fun activities like the amusement parks (Ripley’s Mountain Coaster, Gatlinburg SkyLift and Anakeesta) that they have. We are seafood lovers so going out to eat at the seafood restaurant (Bubba Gump Shrimp and Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar) would definitely be on the agenda and can’t leave out eating some good BBQ. They also have an amazing steakhouse (Peddler Steakhouse) that we would go to and enjoy a steak and baked potato. We drink moonshine every now and then so we would go to Ole Smoky Moonshine. We can and like to cook, so having a good southern meal would consist of some fried chicken, mac n cheese and spinach with some biscuits. When the kids aren’t around we are late sleepers, so breakfast would be cooked. Pancakes, waffles, grits, bacon and eggs would have the kitchen smelling oh so good. We would also sit and play cards, laugh and joke around. Before the trip ended we would be planning the next vacation that we would take.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My children are my why with anything that I do in life. Jaedyn, Je’Laehya, Matthew and Jenisys have all made me the mother and woman I am today. They are my biggest fans and cheerleaders. They have gone through the ups and downs and have sacrificed with me in this journey. Their love and support is EVERYTHING. I also have an AMAZING support system with my family. I honestly wouldn’t be where I am at today without all of the love and support throughout my life.

I’m forever grateful for my spiritual growth and development and that thanks goes to The Lifeline Prayer Call that was started by Dr. Lenika Scott who is also an Ambassador for Total Life Changes. I started listening to this call in 2018 and my spiritual life and relationship with God forever changed. I’ve seen God show up in my adult life like I have never seen before. I’m grateful for the other ministers that host the call with her. She has since then been a Coach and mentor not only in my spiritual life, but business as well.

I’m grateful for Total Life Changes. This company along with their amazing products changed my life. My health changed four years ago for the better! I lost 70lbs and I was able to take my health back for me and my kids. My mental health changed drastically. Where I was at mentally before the change began, I didn’t love myself or believed in myself. Being a part of this company….ALL OF THAT CHANGED! This company allowed me to meet the people that are now in my life that has helped me to become a better person. This is where the self development began.

The success that I have had in Total Life Changes and being an entrepreneur couldn’t have been done without my coaches, Coach Nate and Pam McCray. Their leadership, mentorship and coaching has allowed me to become the woman and business woman I am today. They have helped me to truly understand that I AM Created for Greatness and that I have everything within me to be successful. Through their IAO Academy I was able to learn the necessary tools to help me start my Health and Wellness Coaching business Women Growing Gracefully. They push me daily to continue to become the best version of myself.
