We had the good fortune of connecting with Ty Marion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ty, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
First off I want to say thank you for having me. As for the most important factors behind our success, the truth is that it comes from a variety of different factors. However, one of the main components is showing up. That’s it. There may be a voice in your head saying, you mean I have to get on the plane for 5 hours just to meet with a client and then fly back? The truth is, sometimes you just don’t want to do that. You need to learn and tell the voice in your head, you know what, I’m getting on the plane and showing up. Luckily I learned this early on during high school. Don’t get up at 5 o’clock in the morning to go to morning football workouts, don’t do those extra drills after practice, don’t do this don’t do that. I do it, and I didn’t really have a choice. Everything I learned from playing football I brought into business. As soon as I hear that voice turn on, I say no, I am doing it. That is the most important factor behind our success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
TradeMark is a media and production company. We work with athletes, entertainers, and companies all over the world. Any one of our clients from an athlete like Saquon Barkley to a local power washing company like Doctor Scrubs Exterior Solutions, our goal is to build their digital presence. For our athletes, it comes down to how can we share their story? How can we give them the opportunity to own their own narrative and media under their brand? It’s similar for the companies we work with. How can we tell the story of their business while generating more sales? We want to share stories and distribute content that resonates with people.

We believe that every individual or business is a media company in its own way. That is the way we look at it. Sauce Gardner is a media company that is also one of the best football players in the world. Sauce has the opportunity to connect with millions of people all around the world by sharing exclusive content that we produce to his YouTube channel. Simultaneously, he is able to monetize that exclusive content through advertising revenue and brand partnerships. Alerion Aviation is a media company that is one of the most respected businesses in private aviation. Alerion has a story, they have services, they have products, and we produce and distribute the content to build their brand and get in front of their target clientele.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Miami is one of the best cities in the world – there is almost too much to do. In my view, as a junior at the University of Miami, I would start off by taking them on a campus tour. I’d then take them to the beach to relax and enjoy the tropical South Florida water. Afterwards I would then head to Miracle Mile where I would take them out to Fratellino Ristorante, one of my favorite restaurants in Miami with the best people. I would finish the night off by going out in Brickell.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents deserve all of the credit in my story. They have been the greatest role models. There have only been a handful of times where they have questioned me… one of those times being when I had just turned 16. I was asked to fly across the country to spend the week with a NFL player while trying to balance high school. After hours of convincing, they said yes. This trip was what ultimately opened my eyes to the countless opportunities ahead.
