We had the good fortune of connecting with Valentina Tamayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valentina, what is the most important factor behind your success?
In the past years, I’ve realized that to be successful, you need to establish good habits in your life. It doesn’t matter what your life goals or expectations are; good habits will allow you to free up your brain capacity, make better decisions, and enjoy your present self. Good habits also keep your balance when things get difficult – and the reality is that it might be easy to go through challenging moments when you are an entrepreneur-

I read once a phrase that I always keep with myself: “We are what we constantly do, and excellence is not an act, is a Habit”. Being successful is the sum of small habits that we do every day and that lead us towards our goals; consistency and practice make the secret formula to success.

You have to work for what you want in your life. If you want to improve and see professional and personal growth, you have to be consistent with your acts, you have to keep practicing and trying until you reach what you desire, you have to commit to your habits.

Committing to yourself and being consistent with your habits, is the synonym of accomplish your dreams and a future full of success.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have two very special projects of my own and both make me very happy and fulfilled. The first one is my brand on social media platforms as a lifestyle influencer, mvtrends. The second one is my Marketing Company, Trendy Experience.

Trendy Experience is a 360 Digital Marketing company that was born in 2019 in Miami. FL. We are a full-service digital marketing agency with a global network of professionals; this makes us experts in delivering creative and performance results in different industries such as Fashion, Beauty, Hospitality, Automotive, Tech, among other industries.

From creating an impact, finding solutions, understanding purposes, managing crisis, and creating one-of-a-kind brands or campaigns – we MAKE IT TRENDY through the power of experiences. What sets us apart is the fact that everything we do begins with a purpose; we encourage our team to create great bonds and connections with our clients, we provide a boutique service, even when the company is growing, we put a lot of effort and details behind all our projects.

I’m very proud to say that we’ve created and supported brands that are now successful in their areas. For example. It fills my heart to see brands like “Toast It” now available on Publix – we literally developed this brand from scratch, or to see “Seta Apparel” having a exclusive partnership with Amazon Fashion after participating in the show “Making The Cut” and we were part of it, being able to go with them to New York and Paris Fashion Week, it just fills makes me feel very proud. It is extremely important for me to say that this was not only because of me, there’s a lot of professionals involved from the Trendy Team that are part of all the success of the company.

We love to see our brands grow and become bigger and bigger every day! We are currently a group of 30 members, and every single one of them puts as much thought behind every brand as the owners it-self – promoting new innovative ideas that are tangible, and are part of the success stories of many businesses.

I always think “nothing worth having comes easy”, and that effort and sacrifice you put into your project or your dream is magical – the journey of being an entrepreneur teaches you to appreciate the challenges and experiences of your process – this is why for me, it is extremely important to work on something that allows you to feel connected with your higher-self and your purpose.

My biggest challenge was having to confront my goals by myself, it was very exhausting! After dealing with my fears of delegating, I decided to take a new step and get into a partnership that I’m very happy and proud about – I have a beautiful relationship with my two partners and I learned that everything is better when you are a team player. Another challenge was to adopt productivity habits – achieving your maximum potential on productivity can be uphill, and it was hard to learn how to take the best of my time. And last but not least, I had a hard time creating boundaries between my work and personal life – I would literally work 24/7, and it was literally nuts, I even got sick! Nowadays I understand the importance of having a balance, of putting myself first in order to be a good leader for my team, and a good CEO for my company.

Along the way, I have learned that “Perfection is the enemy of being practical”. I was a perfectionist, and had huge fear of failure, but I learned that “failure” is not such a thing – learning experiences is what comes from trying, not giving up and experiencing opportunities – this learning experiences might be hard, but they are a beautiful opportunity that God gives us to improve and achieve our goals.

With my story, I just want to be an example for all of those dreamers (like me) who have purpose, a big commitment with themselves that everything is possible when your work for it (I know is very cliché, but trust me, it is very true) I was a 17 year old immigrant from Venezuela when I moved to Miami – no contacts, barely spoke the language, with a very different lifestyle from what I used to have in my country but I was ready to become “someone”, I had the eager of accomplish my goals, and I had the emotional support of the most amazing family in the world which was essential for me during my process. Whenever you want to become “someone” you just need to work for it, have the most positive mindset and stop waiting for life to happen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
On a Satuday, I will definitely take them brunch first!! I love brunch, I just think they always have the most amazing food. There are many great places for Brunch in Miami; Sugarcane, ConSentido, Korner 67, Little Hen or Planta.

After that, spending the day on the beach or on a boat is part of a perfect Miami itinerary.

I don’t drink alcohol, but I appreciate a great cafecito. No matter where we are, we need to have a coffee stop in the late afternoon -or maybe I’ll just grab a coffee and I’ll take my friends for drinks at a Happy Hour- Something many people doesn’t know, is that my husband is a Restaurant Consultant, so even though I might not have the best recommendations for drinks, he certainly does, and he have introduced me to many cool places! So for Happy Hour, I will take my friends to Astra, Rusty Pelican, Veza Sur, Salvaje, Sugar or Amara. for sure!

If they still have energy for a good party, Wynwood is the way to go – I love to do bar hopping or step in different Latin Parties around the area, I always have so much fun when I go there with a group of friends to dance and walk around, especially because dancing is something I love to do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely give a shoutout to my Trendy Team! We have a group of over 30 Marketing, Advertising and Communication professionals working with us at Trendy Experience and they are simply amazing!!!

We wouldn’t be able to accomplish any single success in the company without their dedication, creativity and effort!
