We had the good fortune of connecting with Valerie Anon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Valerie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I fell in love with the cultural art of music at a young age. Watching my father attend music expos for Sony records and him deejaying at event parties involving famous industrial influencers that we see today on the Grammys or Tv , made me want to pursue and achieve in what I do today as a Record A&R executive for one of the biggest Music famous and powerful distributors worldwide for companies Gt Digital and Empire distribution.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve been an Artist , Dancer and showcase coordinator for 20 plus years . I first started Deejaying at a very young age of 13 taught by my father than later on got into producing and making beats with the synthesizers and Mpcs than became an Emcee at age of 18 . After experiencing & learning the behind the scenes of what goes on in the Miami music scenery promoting creating flyers for one of the biggest companies PK Graphics and attending to events in the early year of 2000 . I decided to learn more about the music business. I started getting booked at Hotels to Deejay at pool parties involving the sponsorships by BET network for the independent festival parties along with other business partners from different states that represented the Hiphop urban culture. I got more involved at these musical conferences and started creating more of my own events at a club called Jazid Night Club where I brought a new experience on the heart of south beach. I did Jazid for 10 years of bringing support to the music culture for the local artist in the South Florida. I involved Bone Thugs n Harmony. Lil Scrappy , Smoke Dza M1 from Dead Prez , and Prodigy from Mob Deep who passed in June 20 2017 the community started calling Queen of South beach . Now many industry celebrities come to me for advice for their music projects , management companies, events and more. Now I have expand to achieve what I always wanted to do to become one of the most respected A&R with Gt Digital/ Empire Distribution in the South Florida helping artist and label companies to have they own independent label with the Empire Distribution behind it also creating articles and working for the News Break and breaking artist music records on my worldwide podcast called 4 Da Culture with the sound exchange to provide artist royalties and income to the independent artist on www.excitementradio.com Every Fridays 9 pm to 11 pm eastern standard time with 40,000 listeners worldwide. I love what I do with a passion and also I’m glad that I’m making a impact in the South Florida because it has been years that artist are not supported in South Florida and I’m happy that I’m making a difference for the talented music culture miami haves .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My Radio Show would be one because I can throw my parties and reunion with my family and team . Things are not how they used to be before so now I would invite my friends and industry influencers to come hear the music projects or listening releases at the studio or radio station with a twist of Fun , Good buffet and beverages with the people you build with . With amazing good vibes
