We had the good fortune of connecting with VERONICA MAR and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi VERONICA, how does your business help the community?
My business operates on the principle that when we create with love and intention, our actions can have a profound effect on people and their surroundings.

I specialize in using minerals, numerology, and sacred geometry within my work, which serves as a catalyst for realigning and harmonizing spaces. The energy emitted by my creations is one of balance and harmony, fostering a sense of equilibrium in the environment.

Furthermore, all of my work is designed to inspire inner growth and purity through its minimalistic presence. It encourages viewers to embark on an introspective journey, connecting them to concepts of freedom, emancipation, and self-fulfillment.

In the realm of sculpture, my artwork engages in a dialogue between the eternal and ephemeral, the empty and full, light and darkness. The ultimate goal is to highlight the unity that underlies these dualities.

I view my art, whether it’s sculptural pieces, paintings, or jewelry, as interconnected “totems of light” that elevate and enhance beauty. Each creation serves as a beacon of positive energy, enriching the community and the lives of those who interact with it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe that what sets me apart from others is that I am working with energy. I seek to represent the essence of nature and the human being in my pieces, with a minimum material presence. I give a dream of something different, something extra-ordinary, something genuine.

Regarding how I got to where I am now professionally, I was born as an artist, I finished Fine Arts in 2005 and Interior Design in 2004. Then thanks to a Leonardo grant, I moved to England to work as a graphic designer and after 6 months I got a job as an interior designer. From England, in my free time, I started to present my designs at design fairs like Salon Satellite in Milan where I exhibited in 2008.

By that time all my creations were inspired by nature, and by Brancusi’s exploration of the essence of life.

I needed the sun so I decided to move to Madrid where my parents lived, and decided to start my own design company named “Enessentia” which in Latin means “in the essence”.
On my mind was to become one of the best designers in the world.

It was a very difficult path, as by 2014, my brand wasn’t working, I went bankrupt and had to move back to my parents’ house. One day, feeling completely devastated, I asked myself a very important question: ‘If you had all the money in the world, what would you like to do?’ And I replied, ‘I would like to create sculptures, monumental pieces like totems of light.’ I had to be positive and focus my mind on my dreams. Six months later, I was installing a 275-in. / 7-meter sculpture in one of my clients’ homes.

I realized then, that I needed to follow my heart and intuition and not my mind.

With regard to the last question, reality is not just what you can touch. Through the spiritual world, my work is created with great force, providing balance, harmony, and inner power. The spaces change their energy by placing the pieces strategically. I also use minerals, numerology, and sacred geometry, hidden in the work, the balance and harmonization of each space, are generated.

I am proud of creating what I call “Totems of light”, they are made with conscious energy to heal, harmonize, and balance the space where they will be placed.

I feel that my art, sculptural pieces, and jewelry fuel one another. You can see in all my work my passion for nature, which creates total perfection and function

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Spain is so rich in places, people, and things that I can talk for many days about it.

If one of my best friends was visiting Spain I would take them to Granada, where I was born, to see the beautiful Alhambra built more than 1500 years ago. We will go to have some free tapas and an Alhambra Beer, in Bodegas Castaneda or many other bars around the center. Then I would take her to see my cave, where my parents live, a beautiful cave from the 50s in the middle of the mountains, very near Guadix, in Granada. That area was a lake in the Pleistocene, there are many beautiful caves.

> Then I will take her to Sevilla, to see the Giralda, the beautiful Gardens, the Judería. Have some amazing wines and tapas in one of the nicest bars in Spain “Las Teresas”. We will take a fast train to Madrid and we will visit the Retiro Park, the Puerta del Sol place, Plaza Mayor, visit the terrace and astonishing views at Hotel Riu. We will go to the lake at Casa de Campo, and have lunch or dinner in one of these amazing restaurants “Amazonico”, “ Tatel” or “Casa Botin” (The oldest restaurant in Spain)

We will visit the Museo del Prado, Museo Reina Sofía of  Modern Art, and the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum.
I believe between these 3 trips we will need more time than! week, she will have to come back to visit Extremadura, North of Spain, Cuenca, Barcelona, and Valencia! 😀

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family has been the most important; they have always supported me. Although initially, they wanted me to have a stable job, they have always been by my side.

Aside from my family, All the industrialists, sculptors, and artisans I have met, have helped me, and I have learned a lot from them. They have been very kind to me. It has been very nice to receive so much support from them, even though they didn’t know me at all.

As for books, Joe Dispenza’s “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” and many others. My teachers in energy sciences and all my friends. The truth is, I am also grateful to the people who didn’t believe in me and haters who were envious of me (which is very common in Spain) because those people have also made me a better person and stronger.
