We had the good fortune of connecting with Victor Neves and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victor, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
Be resilient. There will always be critics, there will always be people trying to talk you down, there will always be problems to solve, there will always be great people who will make mistakes and may cost you a lot of money. Even your own family (parents, wife, children etc…) and friends will suggest you should quit what you are doing, because you can get a degree and earn more money as a employee in a great corporation. However; keep going even during hard times, focus on your goal and move forward. Even if you think you are having a set back, it is just a lesson you need to learn to get closer to your goal. Reading and listening to audio books is a great way to keep your mind strong.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Master Pool.

We are swimming pool contractors licensed and insured by the State of Florida. We build and renovate swimming pools, spas, fountains, water features, swimming pool equipments and pool decks.

I’m extremely proud of the fact that we were a company barely known that use to do swimming pool cleaning and some small equipment repairs, and in a short period of time we were able to execute some of the greats projects in South Florida. We have done jobs in some of the most luxury condominiums in Aventura such as Porto Vita and Williams Island. We built the swimming pool in the rooftop of Hotel Maren by Hilton facing the ocean in Fort Lauderdale Florida. We have built some amazing swimming pools in Palm Beach Island and some high end communities in West Palm Beach.

Our success comes first and foremost from God’s blessings in our lives (me and my family). We have always worked very hard and dedicated our best to each job. A lot of people think that our customers come from social media because of all the videos and pictures we post, but in reality 95% of our clients comes from referrals. We are very good at doing basic things such as answering phone calls, replying to emails, getting back to customers, delivering the jobs on time, being honest and upfront with the customer. Today the work force and specially the construction industry is very needy of people who are honest and deliver what they say they will deliver. We take great advantage of it, because we deliver what we promise and deliver with excellence.

In my life nothing has ever been easy. Specially making Master Pool grow. We have all kinds of challenges from hiring talent, retaining talent, organizing schedule, organizing finances, making sales. But ultimately the way we overcame and keep overcoming all the challenges we face is pretty simple. We sit down, analyze the problem and brainstorm solutions. Sometimes the solution involves spending money, sometimes investing time into due diligences. The hardest part of all is keeping the mind cool and moving forward even when it seems that everything is falling apart.

The most important lesson I ever learned is that every problem has a solution. It is important to keep the mind clear, ask God for guidance, have faith and be resilient.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would most likely take them to the beach in Miami, go to Brickell City center to show them around. Show them around Mizner in Boca Raton. Show Delray Beach, Atlantic Ave and look for different restaurants to go.

I 100% dedicated to my work, and the short time I have I normally like to go out to restaurants or rest to recover my energy.
